The MadHouse Prague

Prague, Czech Republic

This hostel is in a really good location, only 10 minutes walk from the main square and really close to some good bars. There is a supermarket close by too. The staff are really friendly and are happy to help with whatever you need. The vibe when I was there was pretty chilled. There are communal areas to mix with others but it isn't a party hostel. the toilets upstairs were tiny! Too small I think, and there was quite a lot of dust on the floor in the dorm.

Castle Hostel 1004 - Bled

Bled, Slovenia

Cool place to stay with large common area for socialising which people tend to do. The 6 bed dorm we stayed in was pretty small with nowhere really to put your bag so you do feel on top of the other guests. Also has lovely outside terrace with nice views so you can chill out and enjoy the sunshine. The bar downstairs on the street is a cool place to hang out and meet new friends. Staff very helpful and do a daily trip to the gorge and the viewpoint all for free. Whole place very clean and modern

Tresor Hostel

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Stayed in 6 bed dorm with plenty of room for bags and you don't feel like you are on top of each other. Bunk beds are metal however so you feel every little movement of the other person. Common area was good but people didn't tend to congregate in there so hard to meet people. This may be due to ljubjana being quite quiet. Staff really helpful and available 24 hours a day. Free breakfast is a nice bonus. Modern place very central location so makes a good base.

Suneta Hostel Khaosan

Bangkok, Thailand

By far one of the best hostels I have stayed in Thailand. Very clean and modern facilities. Free breakfast, nice area to chill out and meet other travellers which is so easy here. 2minute walk from Khao San Road. Reception manned 24hrs so security good. Staff very helpful and one member, Sun, took us out one night and showed us where the Thais eat and drink. Don't hesitate to book here.

Koh Tao Central Hostel

Koh Tao, Thailand

Awesome place as to stay. Before I had even out my bags down I was welcomed by Rolf and Erin who are the friendliest, fun, and most accommodating people you could meet. Had some great banter with them and they let my friend stay with me cause he didn't have a bed. I stayed in the 13 bed dorm which has low lighting. It's a bit weird at first but actually was ok cause it means people can't put a big light on and wake everyone up. Beds are big and comfy. Cool bar across the road.

Lazy House Shenanigans

Koh Phangan, Thailand

Good location and friendly staff who are more than helpful. Good common area although people come and go at different times rather than gather in the evening so had to go out and make my own friends. 4 bed dorm was clean with lockers in the room. WiFi a little temperamental!

Thanks or the review. The only point I would make is judging the quality of Wi-Fi is really too circumstantial. Wi-Fi all around the world is at different standards plus it optional to have and not a requirement. . It would have been nice to hear more about the Hostel and the facilities etc. effectively that is what you're reviewing. The coming and going of people is normal for an accommodation provider, it was a shame that when you came down, most people had already gone out.

The Lounge

Koh Samui, Thailand

Really nice hostel which was clean and modern with nice sofas and a nice homely lounge area to chill out. 6 bed dorm was spacious, clean, with own bathroom. The only down side is that it is a 20min 200 baht taxi ride to centre which I didn't realise so puts you off going out. Also, hardly anyone in hostel and as a lone traveller meant I didn't meet anyone. Possibly because it was nearly full moon + people had already headed there. Lovely staff though and gorgeous beach with hardly any people.

Spicythai Backpackers

Chiang Mai, Thailand

What a unique place to stay! Really cool tree top type accomodation. It's pretty open so you can hear other people in the next door houses but it has an awesome atmosphere amongst lots of greenery and beautiful views. Common area has hammocks, books and is raised up from the ground - you couldn't wish for a cooler place to stay! Lockers outside. Bit of a walk into Pai centre but this place is so worth it!

NapPark Hostel at Khao San

Bangkok, Thailand

Good place to go if you're a lone traveller; met loads of people here. My upstairs dorm was pretty noisy to sleep at times because you are on top of the social area. Good chill out area and staff helpful in answering any questions etc. 5 minute walk to koh San road. Be wary of leaving valuables in your room. The cleaners go through your bags searching for stashed money and will steal a small amount so you may not notice. So as long as you lock all away you will be fine.

Hostel City Central Old Town

Dubrovnik, Croatia

This place took some finding as the sign isn't very big! But literally seconds from Pile Gate so great location. Windowless room down some stairs so felt a bit claustophobic but you only sleep there! Shower room has two showers but tiny area to get changed! Communal area to socialise and I made friends with my roomies. On the whole good hostel although on small side so I didn't meet loads of people.

Split Guesthouse & Hostel

Split, Croatia

Loved this place! Joska is an awesome host and is so helpful, funny and friendly it felt like home from the moment I walked in! Free daily bottle of vodka and gratis grappa! Rooms are spacious and showers are good and clean although top bunk is high! Cool common area where Joska encourages everyone to be sociable! Is a little out of the centre but it's a short walk and worth it for the atmosphere!

Luka's Lodge

Hvar, Croatia

Awesome place! Booked cause I was a lone traveller and I made so many friends at this place! Things going on every night where people socialise then awesome Geoff takes you out each night to Kiva. BBQ was so nice with Luka's olive oil and gorgeous fresh fish. Maria cannot do enough for you and felt like a friend from the moment I met her, nothing is too much trouble. Comfy beds, hot shower, free mats to take to the beach for the rocks. Do not hesitate to book, I can't wait to go back next year.

House Sale

Korcula, Croatia

I stayed in the single room which was small but it met my needs. Has its own bathroom but you had to cross the hall to get to it so not en suite. Up a lot of steps but lovely view and only 2 min walk to the main shops/restaurants and harbour. I didn't really meet anyone there so not great for socialising but at least you get a quiet nights sleep! Owner is friendly and helpful. Use of the kitchen which is useful. No aircon, fan only. Tv but don't know why anyone would want to watch it on holiday!
