Super-chill hostel, perfect for taking rest for a couple days. They have a nice swimming pool and the dorms are in actually lodges "in the nature". Note, that the hostel is not on the island of Flores but a short boat ride away, nicely overlooking the island and the lake. That makes it a pretty calm & relaxed atmosphere, but also means you will not be right where all the restaurants/bars are.

First, while there are definitely cleaner hostels in this world, DirtyMcNastys is not as bad as the name might suggest. What's great about this hostel is the atmosphere (free rum punch every night!) which makes it easy to meet people. Also, the free breakfast is nice although it never completely fills you up.

This is a really great hostel! Super clean, very nice dorm rooms and a great location right by the beach! The staff is really friendly & helpful - I forgot some clothes when moving to the next island and they put in quite some effort to send them to me by boat. Thanks a lot! Only slight downside is that it's not as easy to meet other travellers compared to other hostels as there isn't much of a communal area (there is a bar, but there are mostly non-hostel guests).

The hostel's greatest asset is its location right at the lake - the rest of it is unspectacular. As a piece of advice, don't sleep in the tents - the communal bathroom is dirty and smelly. Staying in the dorm room where you share the bathroom with just the people in the room is the better choice.

The Loft Hostel Budapest, Budapest, Hungary

We had a very pleasant stay at the Loft Hostel - it has a very relaxed atmosphere and it is easy to talk to people and hang out together at night. Important to note, though, that it is a pretty small hostel (around 15 beds) so if you are up for meeting lots of people to go for crazy partying, this may not be your perfect place. For everyone just looking to chill in a relaxed atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

One of the best hostels I have ever been to, but also one of the most expensive ones (not just the stay also auxilliary services: washing one load of laundry is about $10). However, facilities, location and especially the breakfast were amazing. One thing to improve though would be installing individual reading lights and power outlets at the beds. As information for travellers, I would add that most guests at Cty Circus are on the more 'mature' side, i.e. median age is probably mid- to late 20s

The hostel was alright - I guess, there aren't any excellent hostels anywhere in Chisinau ;) The hostel is bascially a converted apartment. This is also its biggest drawback: there is only one shower and one toilet and there is no basin to wash your hands after using the toilet, if the shower is in use. That said, the atmosphere was good and the staff was alright.

Greg & Tom Party Hostel, Krakow, Poland

Great hostel, that remains true to its name: this really is a party hostel! Great base for going on pub crawls or otherwise partying. However, that also has a downside: it is not uncommon for people to puke in the sleeping room or drunkenly disturb everyone in the room. Also, I understand that they make their money with alcohol, but the beer is quite pricey and no outside alcohol is allowed. In any case, the staff were very helpful in organizing onward travels. Thanks for that!

Good hostel, with a relaxed atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff in a very secure neighborhood. However, it may not be the best place to meet other travellers, if you travel alone as I did. Also, while there are a number of bars and restuarants in the immediate neighborhood, travelling to the city centre actually takes a little bit of time. I would say it's ideal for people or better yet, couples, looking for a more relaxed stay.

Great hostel! If you look for a place with great atmosphere to meet other travellers look no further. In addition, the staff was outstanding: since there were not enough people for the regular pup crawl due to low season (which I'm certain would have been awesome btw ) they took me and another guy on a private trip to a couple pretty neat clubs - awesome night, great effort to make guests happy, great hostel experience! Recommended!

Ruby Hotel, Nha Trang, Vietnam

Overall, an average hotel. One of the staff speaks basically no English, which makes communication difficult. Also be aware that there is more than one Ruby Hotel in town - they failed to tell us and we had to pay another 80K to the taxi driver to get us there. However, they were nice in offering a place to sleep until our actual room was ready. The room itself was rather underwhelming but ok for the price.

Overall, a below-average experience. The location is good and they have alright facilities (rooftop restaurant, bar/commons area etc.). However, the staff`s English was mediocre at best and the fact that they always want to have money upfront (even in the restaurant they brought my food to the table and then asked for the money on the spot) was kind of offputting. Also, the bathrooms need better cleaning. Next time, I´ll stay somewhere else.

Overall a solid hostel. I liked the tipps & tricks on Cambodia the owner was giving out. Also the breakfast is nice (you have to pay extra though). Location is alright, too. Only downside was that the hostel at times looked a little run down (not terrible, but could use a new paint job, new beds and/or lockers).

View Property Reply

Thanks for the honest appraisal and review. We've been exceptionally busy recently but in the 9 weeks since we took this hostel over we have replaced 2 A/Cs with new units, put new mattresses in all rooms and A/C rooms now have bunk beds (no more mattresses on the floor there!). We have painters in now and the whole hostel except reception is being repainted. We may look at running an offer to give Bed & Breakfast options but there's other improvement work we want to do first.

Okay-experience. Somewhat unusual for a hostel, it basically occupies one level of an office building. That means there are no windows and only artificial light. Also you need to be aware that it's at the center of Phuket's night life strip. Great if you would like to party, but not very relaxing. I liked that the bathrooms were very big and comparatively clean.

A good hostel - a plus is that there are 2 showers and 2 toilets for every 8-bed dorm. To become excellent, it would need a commons area and the cleaning lady would have to work a bit more diligent (which isn't to say it was outright dirty).

This isn't really a hostel: it's a Tatoo parlor with a room upstairs where they crammed as many bunk beds in as possible. There is one shower and one toilet+shower for 14 people. There is no commons area plus the price is ridiculous. It is, however, very close to the Full Moon Party site - which is probably the only time anyone would ever book there. Oh, and the staff is friendly, at least.

A good hostel experience - especially the staff was very helpful (they also rent out scooters and help you with the booking).
