Hotel My Home

The location was excellent. Our room was on the 3rd floor, so it was tough getting up and down the narrow staircase with our suitcases. Room was nice (towels were provided!). Breakfast was GREAT here. So close to all the shopping and trams to get to the museums and red light district. We didn't spend much time in the hotel so we didn't spend much time meeting new people here. Close to many coffee shops where we socialized instead.

MEININGER Brussels City Center

The hostel had a great bar and area to hang and meet people. That was the best part. The bathrooms in each all seemed to have draining issues. Beds were not comfortable and lockers were small. BUT, the atmosphere was absolutely worth that. Close to the city center (15-20 minute walk) and free tours left from the hostel lobby every day. I had the most fun and made the most friends here.

Hotel Bristol Zurich

Zurich, Switzerland

The directions to get to the hotel were the only tough part (they gave bad ones and we walked so far out of the way). Staff was super helpful and the hotel is close to food and the city center and lake Zurich. Room was clean and had a fan, which was super necessary. Beds were a little uncomfortable, but were fine. Little expensive, but that's everywhere in Zurich.

The Tent Munich

Munich, Germany

This was such a fun place to stay. Not far from the tram to explore the city of Munich. Tent bed was the most comfortable in my 3 week trip at many different hostels. Bathrooms were very clean. Worth every penny (probably worth much more). Food wasn't included, but it was cheap and good.

Guesthouse Salzburg

I was pretty disappointed with this hostel. I had paid for an 8 person room and it turns out all their rooms are 12 person rooms. The lockers but were fine. There were only 2 outlets in the room. The showers were TERRIBLE. Bathrooms were not cleaned often. The washer and dryer didn't have instructions in English and the dryer didn't work at all, just ate our money. The staff was not helpful. We needed to check in @ 2 and requested such, but weren't allowed until 5pm. Too much $ for what we got.

Not far from all of the tourist sites. We were placed around the corner from the main part of the hostel, so there wasn't really a main common area over there to meet people. In the main part of the hostel you could get internet and sit outside and mingle, but not in the annex portion. The room was a bit dusty, but the beds were clean and the lockers were good. There was a shower and sink in the room and toilets down the hall. Very secure and worth the price.
