Varad Inn Hostel and Cafe

Novi Sad, Serbia

We stayed during Exit festival. The location is right beside the fortress which is ideal for the festival. Excellent security and staff/owners were really friendly. Beds were comfortable and everything looks new. The price was hiked up for the festival (standard practice in Novi Sad but still, 25€ for a dorm bed is extreme in Serbia). We also found it shady to charge that inflated price the day after the festival when people might want to rest. Other hostels were not doing this so we moved.

Hobo Bear Hostel

Cool spot to stay at in Zagreb. Unfortunately lots of people simply going through and staying for a single night while we were there so it was pretty quiet the weekend we stayed. Excellent staff though! Also, it got extremely hot in our dorm (8 person) while we were there, so be aware.

Hostel Mostel

Awesome place! Everything you could want in a hostel.

This hostel has a great location and decent, English speaking staff. The shared kitchen is also well equipped. However, there are definitely some things that need improvement here, such as bed comfort and the bizarre affair that is breakfast. The most serious issue here though is the laughable toilet situation. There are only two individual toilets all the way downstairs (with one in the room with the showers) and one upstairs. The latter is only a URINAL though, not ideal for women...

Awesome place to stay in Kaş! Can and Yasmine are extremely kind and welcoming. They speak excellent English and can give good, impartial information about the area and what to do. Accommodation is in comfortable bungalows or camping areas. The location is great, with views of the sea and town, all the while being an easy walk to the centre. Try to be there for Saturday barbecue!

Boomerang Guesthouse

Exceptional place to stay! Hussein and his wife are very welcoming and kind. Location is perfect. The breakfast in the morning is hearty and tasty. The beds and bathrooms (in the dorm) were good. The only issue I can see is the security in the dorm. Anyone could walk in if they wantedto so some lockers for personal belongings would be nice. I highly recommend this guest house!

Great place to stay in Seogwipo. Extremely clean, English-speaking staff with great local knowledge, perfect location, decent facilities to cook and store food. They even gave out free mandarins and have two nice dogs to play with. The atmosphere was a bit lacking but I put this down to my being there in the low-season rather than anything else. The terrace outside area would be awesome in summer!

We had a fantastic stay here. The owners, Yuka and Taka, are extremely friendly, knowledgeable about Kyoto, and speak flawless English. The guest house has a lot of style, is spotless, and has all the facilities required to have a great stay. The location is also perfect!

Alobar1000

I stayed at Alobaar multiple times over the course of my two months in Nepal. It's a fantastic place to base yourself in Kathmandu. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is very good and the rooftop bar/hangout area is very chilled out. The food is decent and cheap (being in Thamel though, you should be eating out). Place has good lockers and is secure at night with two security guards. Unfortunately the facilities aren't the best, but I would highly recommend this hostel!

This hostel is frustrating. The facilities are fantastic (great wifi, bathrooms, showers, even a pool) and clean. The beds are also amazing. However, the location is far from any public transportation, requiring a 40-60 baht cab ride each time you want to go anywhere. Added to this, the price they charge for laundry is exhorbitant. This is the only place in SEA I have encountered where they charge by individual piece of laundry instead of by kilo (20 baht for a pair of socks...)

Good place for the full moon party. Decor is bizarre but it works. Wifi could be a bit hit or miss at times. Easy to meet people and great atmosphere in the dorm.

Good hostel. Even though it's a little bit of a walk to the bars and night market in Chiang Mai, there are plenty of good cheap restaurants and street stalls around. Great place to stay!

Great hostel. The location is very convenient since you are right beside the skytrain and subway. Good streetfood around during the day. The facilities and security are also excellent. The owner speaks great English and is a fountain of information. It mighy be higer priced than locations around Khao San road, but it's worth it.

Great value for your money. The staff are nice and knowledgeable about the area as well as the rest of Cambodia. Good bar with an expat crowd that congregates most nights.
