Giovanni's Home

We had an amazing time in Giovanni's hostel. He provides such intricate and passionate knowledge of the city, including a half an hour introduction -including marked map- on all the sights and activities to do. Truly you need at least a week to see almost half. Giovanni provides true southern Italian hospitality to his guests, he even called us in the middle of our stay to invite us to come home for lunch. If you don't stay here you are missing out on a great experience.

Not a bad hostel to stay in, though it is a bit far from the city center. Staff were friendly girls and helpful with calling taxis and recommendations on things to do and so on. However, the door knob for our room (4 person) fell off and we were trapped inside until someone rescued us, when we told them they already knew and didn't do anything except put the handle back on - ofcourse we were trapped again. Disappointing as its an easy fix. All doors a bit dodgy actually, one bathroom had no lock

The facilities here aren't the best, but I suppose they will do if youre in dire need. Showers so small and bunks and sheets old. Owner told us wrong information when booking tour to Plivice Lakes through them.. disappointing and waste of money. Staff always seem tense when owner is around. Bar is nice, but not as cheap as would have you believe, and has a really strict curfew in residential area.. 100 meters down the road is cheaper for drinks. Wouldn't stay here again unless desperate
