The staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful. The breakfast is really good and they have some drinks at good prices and free tea. The rooms were perfectly adequate as was the bathroom. The only slight complaint I have is that the sheets had stains on them, but to be fair I didn't even point this out to them/ask them to be changed so it wasn't that bad. Right next to the ferry and good location for town. Might be quite difficult to find if not shown as it is behind another building.

Shoestrings Airport Lodge

This hostel is perfect if you are need a hostel close to the airport although I'm not sure it would be that good otherwise due to location. It is very suited to airport guests - there is free pick-up and drop-off at the airport which is perfect. We were picked up quickly and had a huge room and bathroom. There is also free tea and free breakfast and cooking facilities. There is no bar/served meals but there is a hotel with a restaurant one minute away which was good.

Jollyboys Backpackers

We only stayed for one night but we had a lovely time. There is a lovely pool, free table tennis and pool, internet (although we didn't use it so can't vouch for it) and a lovely chill-out area. The snack bar has breakfast, sandwiches and specials which seemed to change daily. The bar was more expensive than other hostels we stayed at but wasn't particularly expensive - similar with the food.

We're happy to hear you had a lovely time - hopefully on your next visit you an stay even longer to take advantage of all that Livingstone has to offer! We aim to keep our prices low and competitive with others in Zambia but do admit that prices in Zambia are slightly higher that in South Africa as many beverages are imported.

The hostel staff were helpful and pointed us in the right direction of shops etc. The room was nice and the facilities were good, although having stayed in other hostels in Johannesburg, it was average - but there was nothing wrong as such!
