Euphemia Hotel

Amsterdam, Netherlands

This hotel was not at all what we expected. The staff and location were okay, but the hostel itself was very dark and our room was not clean. Thankfully the sheets were clean, but everything else was sub-par. This was our only stay at a "hotel" rather than hostel our entire trip and we were very surprised that it was the dirtiest place we stayed. Walls are also very thin and we barely slept through everything we heard.

We were very pleased with our stay at this hostel! Great location, room was very clean, staff was nice and helpful, no complaints!

Very spacious and clean rooms, good location, etc. The only problem we had was that some of the staff was unfriendly to us, especially when we asked questions. They mostly seemed uninterested in helping us, with the exception of a guy staff member who was helpful.

Best hostel I have every stayed at! Not only was the room beautiful and extremely clean, but the staff was beyond helpful and the hostel had the best breakfast of any hostel I have ever stayed. I have no complaints for this hostel! The only suggestion I have is to be careful when washing and drying your clothes because the dryer does not actually dry clothes that well. Overall, can't say enough good about this hostel!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hostel. The location doesn't seem to be the best at first, but it is within walking distance to everywhere you want to be. The staff was very helpful and sweet, rooms were clean (except the bathroom smelled like mildew), and the atmosphere was lively. Overall, great hostel!

Hotel Eiffel Segur

This place was excellent! Our room was very clean, the staff was really nice, and we were within walking distance to many things (15 min to Eiffel Tower). It was very quiet around the hostel, but we were also there in August which is when all locals leave. Very pleased with our choice!

This hostel had a lot of great things: centralized location, next to the beach, lots of information on things to do, etc. On the down side, our sheets on our beds had stains and hairs all over them... when we asked reception if they could do something, the guy was very annoyed and never did anything, which was uncomfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but it would have been nice to feel comfortable sleeping in our bed.

Le Sirene

We really enjoyed Le Sirene. It was very close to the water, very quiet and clean, nice staff, etc. Our only complaint is that the shower did not drain and there was a stinky smell in the bathroom. Also, wifi does work but you have to go down the street to a bench outside of the reception office if you want to use it. Overall, we were happy.

Pension Mariluz

This was a really nice hostel in the Las Ramblas district, but there was no way to close the door to the balcony in the room so it was quite noisy at night. Thankfully, the A/C still works so we were able to keep cool throughout the night.

WONDERFUL HOSTEL! We loved our stay here. It was very clean, in a great location and had such friendly staff. They make you feel like part of the family (although they don't speak much English). This is not a party atmosphere type hostel, but everything else is great. Fresh towels every day, they make your bed every day and the breakfast was out of this world (meal ticket with options at a nearby restaurant). This felt like more of a hotel than a hostel. We loved it!

Amistat Beach Hostel

Barcelona, Spain

This hostel was a ton of fun! It's in a great location (near beach and metro), very cool area and a different vibe for a hostel. If you are looking for quiet, this is not the place, but it is a great place to meet new people and have a good time. The kitchen is awesome and makes it possible to make your own meals easily. The only downfall is the cleanliness of the shared bathrooms, but it's only a minor flaw for a great hostel.
