The staff went above and beyond to help where they could. When i was there the guests were mainly families and travelling alone this was a bit of a down point as i like to interact and meet people where here everyone was already in there groups/families. I believe this is a matter of timing more than anything, as 2 of the night a group of lads who were also doing some travelling were there and we had fun and the atmosphere was great at this time, all depends of the bunch you get in my opinion.

Hotel Pensione Ottaviani

i just stayed here for one night before i headed off to to Venice as i wanted to be close to the train station. the staff were friendly and helped where they could, the hostel itself is quite central but hard to find as down back roads (it was dark to be fair though) it wasn't very clean and i was given a pull out/camp bed although the other 2 in my dorm had normal looking bed, this confused me (it wasn't very comfy) i was told it was wheelchair friends, it wasn't, AT ALL.

Absolute beautiful hostel and place!! Great atmosphere and staff are always happy to help as well as extremely friendly! Area is beautiful and absolutely perfect if you want to escape hussle and bussle of Florence itself yet close enough for day trips (frequent buses but unfortunately don't run late at night, finishing at 19.40ish) Also able to do day trips to Siena, Pisa, Cinque Terre and Bologna if wanted. Really loved this hostel, also fantastic for meeting people!

Hostel was great, but unfortunately not so great for wheelchair users, a bit too far out from the city and was extremely difficult to get about. After a few nights I had to change hostel as it was too inconvenient. For a fully able individual the hostel would of been perfect! Unfortunately I didn't find this hostel great for meeting other people apart from others staying in same room as you people seem to keep themselves to themselves and communal areas were not fantastic for meeting others.

Great hostel, really good for meeting people and staff are lovely. The staff hosted a pizza night on the roof where majority if the travellers in the hostel went and was extremely fun and great way to interact and meet others, a group of us went into the town afterwards including a few members if staff (not on duty) Was overall a great hostel!

Great hostel! Animators made the hostel so much more fun and enjoyable to be there! For both kids and adults, great to talk to and easily approachable! Best thing about the hostel! I am a wheelchair user and hostel situated on a hill therefor location for me wasn't fantastic but for a fully abled person would be perfect, near bus stops to anywhere you want to go but far away enough to escape the noise and people/tourist
