Hostal Casa Valparaiso

Valparaiso, Chile

The hostel was sweet and colorful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable, our triple room was big and both the kitchen and bathroom were a good size and clean. Location was great as well, in a safe area and right near lots of bars, cafes, and restaurants. Our stay here was short but we'd totally go back!

Delirio Hostel

Vina del Mar, Chile

There were way too few toilets and showers in the hostel - two to three for everyone and one was out of service most of the time because it was so dirty because people cut their hair. Most people there are loud and drink a lot and the staff has no control over them, letting them party all night, slam doors, play loud music, yell, etc. We would definitely not go back there again.

Margouya Patagonia

Puerto Varas, Chile

Lovely hostel with an amazing and very helpful staff. Everybody really takes care of you and explains a lot. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. Common areas are inviting. There could be more shared bathrooms and hot water could be a little more consistent. But that´s the only little Con. We would definitely stay there again.

Donde German Hostel

Pucon, Chile

Definitely one of the cleanest hostels we've stayed at, but it´s not a hostel. It´s more like a b&b without breakfast. We were the only guests in a big house. The owner is an overbearing older lady who does not understand hostelworld at all - first she didn't have our reservation, then she wanted the full price (ignoring the 10% deposit we'd paid). She only speaks Spanish - which is fine - but doesn't try to make herself understood if your Spanish isn't perfect. We didn´t feel comfortable there.

Yawarmaki Hotel

Cusco, Peru

Nice little quiet place. Mostly couples. Hostel is a little hidden in a side street. The lovely owner lady is extremely accomodating and helpful to the nth degree (though she only speaks Spanish).

Hostel Revolution

Quito, Ecuador

Cozy and relaxed place. Sandra took over the hostel when we stayed there. She was very helpful and accomodating. Some of the facilities were a little run down, but she was starting to fix them up. We had a really good time there.

Eva's Backpackers

Sydney, Australia

Nice terrace, good location, lot´s of work-and-travel folks. Good choice for some days in Sydney.

House itself was quite nicely decorated and the terrace and balcony right on the river were lovely. Staff was nice and helpful, providing a detailed map and baked goods. But the staff doesn't stay in the hotel, so no one is there for questions - you can call them in another guest house. However, the room was in an unacceptable state - not only old and worn down, but there were hairs covering the floor, sheets, and pillows, as if it hadn't been cleaned before we arrived. I wouldn't recommend it!

We thank guests for the review and constructive feedback. We do not have a 24-hour reception as this is a very small hostel. Two of our staff are at the guest house from 9am to 4pm every day. Additionally, guests are welcome to call us on telephone provided at the guest house for any assistance at any time. We thank guest for pointing out regarding the cleanliness of the room and linen and would alert our housekeepers to be more vigilant. We wish guests a fab trip..

Bou Savy Guesthouse

Siem Reap, Cambodia

Best stay so far. Really not a hostel but a great local owned guesthouse. Super friendly staff, excellent service, delicious food, big rooms with TV. We got a well priced Tuk Tuk driver for two days to bring us to the Angkor temples, banana shakes and refreshing towels when we checked in. Definitely would stay there again.

Eighty8 Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Pool, spacious rooms, good service and amazing food. Definitely really good choice in Phnom Penh. It's totally a party hostel, but our room on the top floor was quiet enough at night. We'd stay here again!

We want you to stay again. Thanks :-)

Hong Kong Inn

Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Hong Kong is hard - you get very small rooms and facilities for more money than you'd like to spend. If you´re over 1,80m (5'10") these beds are definitely too small. Keeping that in mind, this place was a really good choice to stay. The location was great - easy to get to and around. The staff was helpful and mostly friendly (though printing things there was more complicated than it should be!). Common room is small and makes it easy to socialize. No laundry service.

The hostel was a lot further out of the city than we thought. Had to ride the subway at least 45 minutes to get anywhere. If you have an early or late flight, don't stay here! The subway only runs there from 630am - 1030pm, and we had to take a 200RMB taxi to get to the airport by 7am! Staff was ok but not particularly helpful. Maybe because hostel is big and lot of people check in and out. Also lounge and restaurant were too big and not conducive to socializing. Room was ok, nothing special.

The hostel was a bit hard to find, as there was no sign outside (it was still really new when we stayed there) and it took our taxi a while to find it, hidden in a high-rise. But it was right near a subway and good restaurantst. The hostel was super new and not finished yet, but very clean, both the rooms and bathrooms. It felt more like a good hotel than a hostel! The staff was very helpful and friendly and flexible, as we changed our booking multiple times. We'd stay there again!

The location was very convenient - about a 10 minute walk from two different subway stations. The downstairs area of the hostel was small and good for socializing, including a few set-off rooms outside and inside to lounge around in. There were no en-suite rooms and the bathrooms and showers were ok - clean enough but somewhat smelly. Our triple room was SUPER tiny and squished. We enjoyed our stay and the price was great, but probably would look for another place if we came back to Chengdu.

The location was great - right near a shopping street, fun restaurants, and the Bund - and the hostel was super easy to find. We also got an upgrade from a dorm to a triple for the same price, which was extra nice of the staff. The lounge was very inviting and made it easy to socialize. The room was a bit small, but standard for Shanghai and comfortable enough. We'd stay there again!
