Good location, easy access to transport to various places of interest. Staff friendly and helpful although not all requests were understood or completed (eg. location of pick-up for bus 306 to warriors, making-up bed for my stay). Appreciated offer of free watermelon at the end of a very hot day. Dorm bathroom could be cleaner. More space needed to dry clothing items.

Great location - on the main street, near the monastery and good restaurants /cafes (Gesar & Snowy Mtn), quick escape to grasslands. Front reception take some warming to be effective. Room was cleaned everyday with fresh linen - that was a surprise. It was better to eat elsewhere, restaurant service was either slow or non-existent. Hotel manager spoke good English and was helpful, eg. going with me to make inquiries at a local store.

My reservation was "lost" so I got what was available-1st night a room at the neighbouring hostel, other nights a different room each night. They were apologetic but I wasn't impressed with this start to my stay. These guys had no English but luckily the neighbouring manager did have some. There was no pick-up from the bus station even though it was stated in website information. This hostel was not close to the bus station or the national park. Managers were not able to give local information.

Excellent directions given from the airport to the hostel. Always a good start for the stay at the hostel. Friendly, helpful staff even the kitchen staff. Just check when booking that you're getting what you pay for.

A good location in Shuhe but not easy to get to from Lijiang unless familiar with bus routes. Staff were helpful and quick to respond to requests, inc. organising trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge. All staff must be realistic with what can be done in a day.

At times too many staff on duty. At times they clashed. Overall they were informative and willing to help. Convenient to old town, easy to access from Dali main town.

When staying in Suzhou I will always choose to stay at Mingtown. Great location, Ping Jiang Lu, old st. Close proximity to various activities. Clean, safe and unique.

A good hostel in a very busy district and thank goodness it closes at night so that you can sleep without being disturbed. Only disadvantage was its distance from the metro station to visit other locations. We also had a child in the group so he was glad to have the pool table to play with family and other visitors.

Ideal location on the lake providing easy access to activities on and around the lake. Hostel staff gave quick, efficient service in making accommodation changes when booking had been incorrect.
