Api gardens is lovely. A little on the quieter side and a tuk tuk ride away from the museums and bars. The breakfast is excellent. While staff is not very helpful with booking, they are very nice. Hot showers. No wifi in rooms.

Thank you for the review and apologies for you feeling this way. Having been a guide for ten years previously I always take the time to talk to new guests about activites. When you both arrived, you had already booked all tours with your previous guesthouse and each day were out doing activities. Aoi's is not only a place to sleep but prides itself on the interative atmosphere between ourselves and our guests. We do however need to be alerted to any problems (ie: wifi) or asked about bookings.

Deejai is definitely the place to stay if you're looking I go out at night in Chiang Mai. Although it is a solid half hour walk to the bars, there are lots of people hanging in the lobby to meet and hang with before. Good breakfast options. About 15 min walk to museum/shopping/massage places. Very helpful with booking excursions.

The villa is amazing, however we spent two hours trying to find it. Do not follow the directions on here, or in the email they send you because they are completely incorrect and no one has any idea of the landmarks they offer you. Close to the beach and walking distance into town for full moon activities. Also, there is absolutely no wifi and it is hard to connect anywhere in town so keep that in mind if its of importance to you.
