No kitchen but cute little bar with pool table and computers, were people can hang out and meet other people before heading out for the night. Bit noisy if you're trying to sleep before 2am, but to be expected with a central location! Staff helpful, and even though it was the most expensive hostel of our trip, we hit the city at peak tourist time and so everywhere was expensive. Good place to head to if you want to explore Amsterdam by night as no curfew and backs on to the Red Light District.

Baxpax Mitte Hostel

Berlin, Germany

Generally very good hostel, near the centre of the city with good access to all parts of the city and very close to the central station. Small but cosy, also well maintained in terms of cleanliness. The staff were a little cold on arrival and didn't jump to help us out with tourist info and maps, but otherwise great value for money.

Sir Toby's Hostel

Prague, Czech Republic

This was one of the best hostels in our entire trip! Apart from the distance from the train station (about 30 minutes walking) this hostel is pretty flawless as hostels go. The staff are generally incredibly friendly and helpful- except for one staff member who was quite blunt and rude, but no one else behaved that way- the hostel has a wonderful interior with an abundance of good facilities and friendly people just relaxing in the beer garden or at the bar. The beds were very comfy as well!!

A&T Holiday Hostel Wien

Vienna, Austria
69%

A & T Wien is located about 30 minutes good walk from the centre of Vienna, so expect having to either walk a while or catch the tram. This hostel is also located in an industrial area, so again, going clubbing or exploring traditional pubs will be quite a trek. A very generic hotel, clean and well maintained, but nothing personal about the hostel, no warm atmosphere that you can find at other, smaller hostels. Good value for money when you just want a clean bed!

Bled Hostel

Best hostel of the trip. The staff were hilarious and fun with loads of advice, lots of young people, and right by the lake with loads of activities (mountain and watersports) available. Good kitchen facilities and big range of backpacking ages. I was afraid the lively hostel would ruin the peaceful atmosphere but most people were just relaxing at various pubs and bars throughout the night, not so much clubbing! I'd go back in a flash!

Maju Jaya Hostel

Zagreb, Croatia

This hostel is a bit of a mixed bag. It is impeccably clean, with friendly staff and comfy beds. However, it is located 45 minutes walking from the train station in the middle of an industrial estate and next door to a rock concert venue, and the aircon doesn't stay on all night so it can become horribly hot! Quite a basic hostel, not the ideal place for socializing!

We are located not more than 30min walking from train station if you choose correct way. We also offering free pick up service. The location is in newly developing central business area. Our next door is a skatepark which sometimes organize small concerts (average less than one per month). The use of air conditioning is completely up to guests, they are in possession of remote controller.

Treestyle Hostel

This hostel is in the clubbing region; ideal if your trip is orientated around nightlife, but not such good news if you're sight-seeing and want some decent sleep at night! There were a lot of large groups playing music and yelling until 3am. The general hostel was very clean and the people working there were very friendly, doing as much as they could to make you feel comfortable and happy to advise you about tourist attractions etc. Only downside was a filthy kitchen, dirty dishes everywhere!

B Movie Hostel

It was pretty basic but I liked the themes for the rooms. Of course because it was in a central area there wasn't a lot of space, but the showers were clean and modern, and for what you were paying you got a good service. The staff were overall very polite and kindly spoke English.
