Lotus Hotel Samui

Koh Samui, Thailand

I don't really have anything negative to say about Lotus, as it was all I needed for a few nights on a budget. The hotel seems to be separated into about 3 blocks, which are all set back from the road and therefore quiet. The hotel seems modern and has all the facilities that a meer backpacker will need. My bed was comfy; I had a TV; air-con; balcony; fridge; bathroom with very good shower. The Wi-Fi was okay but sometime would drop out a bit. The hotel is on the other side of the road from

Hakuna Matata Hotel

I stayed 5 nights at Hakuna Matata and it was fine. It's located at the north end of Chaweng Beach, which whilst you are a 15 minute walk from the nightlife, you are based at the better end of the beach in terms of sunbathing and sand etc. I had a fan room which came with mosquito net. I had a TV, a good shower and bathroom, good size balcony with chairs and hammok. The Wi-Fi was good. There is a bar downstairs with a pool table. Be mindful that whilst the adverts say that breakfast is off

My double room was large and had everything you'd need: large comfortable bed; air-con; TV; fridge; bathroom and balcony. There was plenty of storage space for luggage too. The staff seemed nice but didn't speak the best English. don't bother booking any tours through the married couple who sit in reception at the travel desk, they are useless. I booked a taxi to the airport 2 days before and th

Stayed here on my own for 4 nights. My single room was fine and came with everything I needed. The bed was comfy; the air-con worked well; there was a fridge, safe and TV; the shower was excellent; the room was bright and airy; there was a balcony with a clothes-horse. Breakfast was excellent and was 'eat as much as you like'. Staff on the front desk were helpful, although their English was basic. The hotel's about a 15-minute stroll from Koh San Road which was fine. I'd definitely stay here a
