Bag security on check out was very poor, bed was very soft/uncomfortable. The staff were very friendly.
Room was OK although DVD player did not work (it was replaced by a member of staff three times before we had one which worked!) Kitchen was a bit dirty and the tables in the communal dining area were covered in a horrible sticky substance. Go to Franz Josef for the scenery and outdoor adventures but expect bad accommodation.
Good value hostel in excellent location. The only constructive criticism I would feed back is the tone of communications was off-putting. Our booking confirmation stated lots of hostel rules, when we arrived there were signs everywhere instructing us what to do and not to do, the owner was also not very approachable (and a bit defensive) when we asked some reasonable, friendly questions about the hostel facilities. The free tea/coffee/cakes, however, were very much appreciated.
Good value hostel with friendly staff and decent rooms. Only 10mins walk to pub/restaurant district.
We only had a short one night stay here but it was very comfortable. The owner was also very welcoming and did not mind that our time of arrival was very late. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for budget accommodation at a reasonable standard.

Excellent hostel. Reasonably priced and extremely helpful and welcoming staff. Room was very comfortable although air conditioning unit was too noisy. Food was decent although sometimes service was a bit slow. All in all though its well worth the money and I would recommend it to anyone.
Decent guest house in old town. Very difficult to find. My partner and I paid extra for a room with AC, which at 1500Rs per night was a bit overpriced. We have paid this amount in other places throughout India and the hotels were a higher standard. The owner was very friendly and the room was comfortable - the bathroom however was a dirty, smelly and had the shower poorly located in a corner (very awkward if, like e, you are tall). Food was reasonably priced and tasty. Near Lotus Lounge (good)
Very bad hotel in a very bad area. Crime everywhere, especially pickpockets. Room was totally unacceptable and did not reflect advertisement. Toilet did not flush, mould and bad smells throughout and room was extremely hot. Suspect owners were involved with an organised crime group who tried to rip us off posing as a government tourist information office (don't fall for you need a pass/permit line due to the local festival). We were also followed on departure. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
Room was a good standard for budget accommodation. Difficult to find - suggest paying a local to guide you there. We had a double bed and also a single. Dbl bed was in good condition but single bed was wonky/broken (we only used to sit our bags on). Owner was okay. Wifi worked although we had to sit near to reception to get good signal. Location great - in best part of medina and 5 mins walk from fantastic beach. Showers look a bit horrible but work ok. Toilets disgusting. Well worth a visit.
Hostel located right next to Jemaa El Fna market square so location is ideal - not easy to find though. In-accessible by taxi and hidden up a back street. We paid a local to show us the way. The owner is friendly and fair. Room was very basic and window above dor had been removed so security was a concern, however, the owner kept a close eye on who was coming in/out of the hotel so no problems resulted. Shower and bathroom not great but typical of budget accommodation. All in all not bad.
