Generator Hostel Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain

Beautiful place to stay. Could do with more desk staff and elevators at timed but highly recommend.

Ciao Hostel

Florence, Italy

Convenient location near the train and bus station then a 10 minute bus ride or 20 minute walk into the centre. Clean, quiet hostel with good kitchens and dining areas. No lounge but the bedrooms are big. Best of all, real beds (not bunks). Highly recommend.

Mosaic Hostel

Rome, Italy

Beautiful, clean hostel with large uncluttered bedrooms. Friendly and helpful staff. No kitchen, laundry or lounge but there is a dining area and reception has two computers for guest use. The breakfast is a little too processed but better than nothing! .

Hostel Heart of Sarajevo

Sarajevo, Bosnia And Herzegovina

The hostel is very central but near loud bars, which may or may not suit you. The linen and pillows need replacing because they are really old and ripped/lumpy. Could do with another bathroom but the kitchen is good. Friendly staff.

Travellers Home Hostel

Sarajevo, Bosnia And Herzegovina

A great place to stay! The staff are really wonderful, the hostel is central, clean, has good facilities and is good for socializing with other guests. I really enjoyed it here.

Hostel City Center Sarajevo

Sarajevo, Bosnia And Herzegovina

Nice hostel, good facilities (powerpoints, lounge, computers and kitchen), central location near bars that play loud music at night (didn't bother me but not for everyone) and the old town. Very helpful staff. There are 70 steps to the hostel but the staff will help with your luggage if you need it.

Montenegro Hostel Podgorica

Podgorica, Montenegro

This is not a hostel but a 2 bedroom apartment with people also sleeping in the lounge room. Staff smoke inside with the windows closed so the place stank. Only 1 bathroom. Confusing directions so it took ages to find.

Hostel Anton

Tivat, Montenegro

I loved Hostel Anton!!! It's rustic, artistic, musical, people-oriented and run by a beautiful family and their adored staff. A cab from the bus stop is only 2 Euro then you can walk into Tivat, bus to towns nearby, etc. I enjoyed the home cooked dinner, cheap beers and relaxing with staff and guests in the evenings. Great breezes and views also. Perfect alternative to busier towns witout losing out on being in a central place on Kotor bay. You feel the love of people at this hostel!

Montenegro Hostel 4U

Kotor, Montenegro

Great location, 5 minute walk to the old city and 10 minute walk or 2 Euro cab ride to the bus station. Friendly, helpful staff. Small kitchen and both indoor and outdoor common areas. Air conditioned bedrooms with solid bunks, lockers and en-suite bathrooms. Not a 5 star hotel but good value for the price, and very comfortable.

Youth Hostel Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Easy walk or bus into the old town, areas like Lapad, beaches, the ferry and the main bus station. Very clean hostel, good common areas, adequate breakfast (with coffee). Being an 60s building we had to share power points but it was okay. Excellent value for money in Dubrovnik. Highly recommend.

Hostel Kosy

Rijeka, Croatia

The staff are so wonderful I hugged them as I left. The hostel is in new condition, air conditioned and kept clean. It's in a central location 10-15 minutes walk from the bus/train/ferry. The modern furniture and mattresses are very good quality. Although there is no kitchen the staff will make tea and coffee at any time. The bathrooms are a little cramped but this was the only way they could be built within the space. It didn't detract from a fabulous stay. I highly recommend Hostel Kosy!

Venice, Italy

Very noisy, right beside a canal, so there was motorboat noise all night., then I woke in the morning to the couple who run the hostel having a blazing argument that went for 20 minutes. To get to my bedroom I had to walk through another bedroom. The beds had cheap foam mattresses in poor condition and cheap linen. My bed had sheets that someone had already slept in. My bedroom was crammed, so was the single bathroom. People wanting to stay another night had to move to another of their hostels.

Emeralds Place

Venice, Italy

Being charged extra for linen is a ripoff. One bedroom is enclosed by a wall of wardrobes and gets noise from other people walking through it. Mosquitos got in all night.

This hostel will be great after its planned refurbishishment. It's a cheap and easy commute into town. The breakfast is good but having access to a kitchen for cooking in the evening would be beneficial. The lounge is good. The hostel needs more power points, but these will come in the refurb. The lockers do work. You need to secure the left hand door with the inside latch and then close the right hand door and close the bolt. I would stay here again.
