Flying Pig Downtown

Amsterdam, Netherlands

This hostel is ideally located in the historic centre of the city, close to the main sights, the central station, shopping, coffee shops and restaurants. The bar downstairs is always buzzing with fellow travellers. The only letdown for me was the state of the ensuite bathroom... it was very old, dilapidated and unhygienic!

MEININGER Brussels City Center

I would like to comment favourably on the size, comfort and cleanliness of the bedrooms. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The location is good if you're happy to walk medium distances. I would suggest that the hostel take better care of the kitchen. With such a large amount of people using it daily, there is a need for it to be cleaned more often. A second fridge and some paper towel wouldn't go astray either.

Wombats City Hostel Berlin

Berlin, Germany

The Wombats Berlin lives up to the expectations of the Wombats chain. The rooms are spacious with personal light, PowerPoint and locker. The bathrooms are regularly clean. Special mention to the kitchen facilities which were the cleanest I've come across so far. The location is right near the bus and metro stops for ease.

St Christophers Prague

Prague, Czech Republic

St Christopher's in Prague is located only a ten minute walk from the main centre and attractions. The hotel is very modern with the most fantastic bathroom facilities I've come across so far. The breakfast buffet, though at an extra small cost, includes scrambled/boiled eggs which is a massive pro in my opinion. Definitely would stay here again.

Wombats Vienna is perfect for every kind of traveller from the young backpacker to the older couple looking to save some money better spent on the Opera or Ballet. Great location just outside of the farmers' market where you can buy all sorts of yummy goodies from fresh fruit and vegetables to chocolate and baklava. The rooms were spacious, clean and secure. The laundry and kitchen are a massive bonus.

Wombats City Hostel Munich

Munich, Germany

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Wombat's Munich. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The rooms were clean, spacious and secure. The facilities were great, laundry and wifi are a big plus for backpackers. The breakfast was very generous and only €3.80. I would highly recommend the walking tour with Oz that leaves each day at 10.30am.

The Tent Village

Interlaken, Switzerland
51%

The tent village is a great concept but there are many things you could do to improve your guests experience! The staff (not all) were not particularly interested in helping... they spent most of their time socialising with each other rather than engaging with guests. The tents were tidy which was good, however the bathroom facilities were pretty grubby... Cleaning more often through the day is necessary. Other hostels organise group activities such as dinners, pub crawls etc... a great idea!

The rooms were well kept, and the kitchen facilities were fantastic :). I feel the bathrooms need to be better maintained.
