Lisbon Destination Hostel

We had previously stayed here and had a great time, so booked again with another friend. We arrived quite late and although we had booked a month in advance for 3 people in a 4 bed dorm, we were split up in different rooms and when we questioned it, were told we didn't book early and enough and it would've been sold out long before a month. Which to be honest, sounded like a cover up for the fact that they failed to allocate their bookings correctly. Loved Lisbon regardless though!

Even though it's really central, it's difficult to find with no signage outside the hostel to say that you have found it. Room was clean but no lock on the door. Lockers provided but not big enough for suitcases. Considering the front door is always unlocked, potentially anyone could walk in off the street. One bathroom for absolutely everyone in the hostel was a stitch up as well! Wifi also didn't work for the first two days we were there.

Hostel Manuela in Vela Luka

Korcula, Croatia

This is not in Korcula, Vela Luka is on the other side of the island and takes about an hour by bus once arriving in Korcula by ferry. Once we found the place, it was a cute little home with friendly staff. Kitchen was handy and wifi was good. Vela Luka is beautiful but it should be made clear that it's not in Korcula town.

Chillout Hostel Zagreb

Wifi was really unreliable throughout the hostel. Didn't enjoy having to make my own bed when we got there either! Had a sliding drawer under the beds for belongings but didn't fit suitcases. This is fine if you had a lock, however the rooms were small so it was a tight squeeze! Staff were pretty friendly and helpful however!

Kitchen facilities were decent but wifi wasn't strong and didn't reach our room. Location is good and staff were helpful. The sheets on my bed however didn't look that great so ended up sleeping on top of the duvee.

Beautiful spot! Stayed in a spacious apartment with air conditioning. Nice pool and close to beach and restaurants. Only downside was unreliable wifi. A lovely stay in Naxos!

Paraga Beach Hostel

Staff were really unfriendly and unhelpful, almost bordering on completely rude at times. The bathrooms were foul 9 times out of 10. The wifi was so bad that we weren't able to use it for our entire stay. The computers were all broken, so they either ate your money or barely loaded anything in the allocated time so it was a complete waste. The only positive was the pool atmosphere and it was close to the beaches, would definitely stay at Paradise beach instead next time.

Alice Apartment House 2

Stayed in a beautiful apartment with our own kitchen and bathroom. Close to supermarkets and train station, but within walking distance to main attractions also. Lovely staff that were very helpful. Only downside would be the unreliable wifi, could only get reception if we stood outside our apartment door which was a little awkward.

Great location, but roadworks outside were really noisy from early until quite late. No communal area to meet other travelers either which was a let down. Clean room and very secure place to stay.

really lovely hostel and the view is amazing! a little pricey for dorm rooms! wifi wasn't great either. however, our stay in Positano was just excellent overall, what a beautiful place!

Owner Comment (Hide)
Glad you enjoyed your stay. Real estate on the Amalfi coast in general, and Positano in particular, is very expensive. You only have to look at the price of, for example, a 4 star hotel in Positano to see that room/bed prices are priced accordingly. We do get the fastest internet connection we can, but it is still not that fast, and it can definitely not cope with lots of people streaming simultaneously. All the best for your future travels.

wish we knew there was maintenance going on prior to booking. we would have stayed somewhere else. being woken up at 8am every morning will drills and hammering is not ideal when you're on holiday. apart from that, the place was fine.

Staff were really helpful and friendly! Only complaint is there was only one bathroom - pretty annoying in the morning!

Kaixo Backpackers Hostel

place was really lovely, had an attic all to ourselves for the most part. we were on the very top floor though which meant one thousand stairs had to be climbed numerous times a day. good to work of the delicious food but annoying none the less. lack of atmosphere as we were in a separate hostel and therefore no communal area was available to meet people. location excellent though!
