I chose this hostel because it seemed a good compromise between location, price and facilities for my first trip to Sao Paulo, an overwhelming city. I wasn't disappointed. Main plus points were, less than 5 minutes from the subway, epic breakfasts (cooks some savoury snacks every morning), 24hr reception, friendly staff. Try the free dance lesson on a Wednesday! Some ideas for improvement: lockers big enough for standard cases, and a detailed map of the immediate area to help us n00bs. Recommend
Positives: * Agree with previous comments, the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed in. It was immaculate. * Located excellently for the subway and beach. *Staff are super friendly. * HUGE lockers for all your stuff. * Netflix made for a relaxed evening in the communal area. Negatives * Just be aware there's no breakfast (not a negative really just a fact) * Not a party hostel.
Chose this as a party hostel well located in Lapa area. Low cleanliness score is because it had BED BUGS! I woke up, brushed a black dot and it turned into a blood splat. Have since learned the pattern of the 6 bites on my right calf (in two lines) indicates bed bugs not mosquitoes. Also, smallest kitchen I have ever used. Plus points are: friendly reception staff, free Capirinha 8-9pm, secure rooms, standard Brazilian style breakfast. If they cleaned this could be an awesome hostel!
This is a charming hostel, with stylish decor, good shower, a good breakfast and some nice touches (little shelf and socket by your bed for your phone!). It has a resident cat which I personally like but be aware if you are allergic! The location is very near a subway stop Gloria, so great for cultural trips for the centre and walkable to Lapa for the bars. Offers a very reasonable laundry service. Met lovely ppl. Only small fault is the staff seemed bored and less talkative than other hostels.
Lovely - friendly staff, good facilities to cook, and nice people.
