The hostel is located at the backpackers alley in Beijing, which is 10 minutes walk from Tiananmen Square. Really in the center of the city. The rooms are maintained well, bathroom includes toilet paper and liquid soup ( rare thing in China ). Two non - Chinese are running the hostel, therefore English won't be a problem. Nonwithstanding some of the Chinese staff's English is mediocre and it would be hard to speak with them.
The hostel was actually highly recommended to me by a friend. Sadly I can't agree with him at all. Room was very smelly in an extent that made it hard to get asleep, toilets were not clean (also bring your own toilet paper). Moreover the location is not that good, you need to walk 15 minutes to the nearest metro. Same duration is needed to get to the pub area. The price was extremely high for the given service.
I've been traveling for 3 months in Asia and this is the best hostel I stayed in. The atmosphere is excellent- very home like, also you receive free coffe accompanied by butter
The hostel is located in central Xian old city. They have a cool roof garden with ping pong table and a sauna. The staff is extremely helpful, speaking fluent English.
