Staff weren't engaging or particularly friendly, there was very little communal atmosphere, an older crowd, kitchen was okay, wifi only in reception area, showers and bathroom always flooded, door to room often jammed. Location good.
Good atmosphere/social area, but dorms and bathrooms were pretty poorly: door to room really hard to open, showers flooded and dirty, mattresses in need of update. Staff not particularly involved/enthusiastic/helpful. Can imagine deck would be good in summer. Decent location and vibe, but that's all. Partyish/Australian.
Not impressed. Bathroom in the dorm was appalling (dirty and in need of repair). Massive party hostel, and staff were too pushy about getting you to drink and go out (especially Canadian girl, she was the rudest employee I've met). Location was a good 25 min + walk out of the city, and not in a pretty area. Kitchen okay.
Fantastic location, decent kitchen, very homely - you feel like you're crashing at a friend's. Sheldon's great for a talk to (: small place so intimate atmosphere (we once went out for dinner drinks as the whole hostel). Good non-trashy vibes.
One of the best hostels I've stayed in! Great social atmosphere without being crazy party, good breakfast, great kitchen and common room, the home cooked dinners are definitely worth trying, the staff is friendly, bedrooms/bathrooms are better than average! No wifi in the rooms though, just in the general area.
Had heard good things, but was a bit disappointed. Beds are good and the room is spacious, but shower in shared bathroom didn't work, and only the one bathroom between 12 of us. Wifi is limited to general area. Staff weren't unfriendly, but weren't helpful either (which they should try harder to be, given there doesn't appear to be much to do in Faro). Had dinner one night, the vegetarian option of lasagne, which was clearly reheated, and my friend's chicken wasn't properly cooked.
Best hostel I've been to so far! Tom, Sam, Richie and Ollie are incredible fun, great for a chat, remember your name and are super helpful. They offer dinner every night up on the rooftop, which they cook themselves and adjust to suit any dietary needs: scrumptious stuff! General atmosphere is a winner (met so many people!), decor's a plus, literally a 2 min walk from the Cathedral, and a decent breakfast for €1! I'd recommend to anyone, and would love to go back.
Only recently opened, and while it has potential, there's not yet any atmopshere. The owner Juan is very nice and helpful, but facilities need improvement. Kitchen very limited (no stove and few utensils). Good wifi, good location. Awkward top bunks without ladder. Bathrooms could've been cleaner. Very very quiet socially. Still, it will hopefully improve in the future!
More hotel than hostel. En suite good bathroom, but creaky beds. No kitchen, no atmosphere. Great rooftop area, but not made the most of (always empty). Wouldn't recommend for solo travellers.
Great kitchen, wifi, staff, location. Mojitos and $2 paella every second night, free breakfast churros. Social/party atmosphere, planned activities available. Only complaint were bathrooms (definitely need improvement).
Definitely recommend it. Comfy beds, spacious rooms, kitchen cleaned daily, helpful staff, great for meeting people, less than 5min from lake. Only downsides: a bit of a shower/toilet queue, unreliable wifi, can be loud at night if you want rest.
Lovely location, great local pub downstairs - clean and spacious, comfy beds, big lockers - reliable wifi - no kitchen - no communal area or planned activities (makes it hard to meet people) - no air con in the room I was in, got pretty hot
