Sunshine Home

Handy location, great view from the 6-bed dorm.

Sanya Backpackers

Sanya, China

Really enjoyed relaxing here for a couple of days, the staff were all helpful and friendly. My only complaints were that I felt that the 40yuan for a load of washing was a little steep along with the 30yuan i paid to join the staff for their typical chinese lunch of rice and various vegetable dishes (delicious though it was). Overall, a great stay and fantastic location a couple of minutes walk from the Dadonghai beach: a 2km bay perfect for running and swimming.

An incredible hostel. Perhaps more like a hotel, yet still welcoming and homely, loved my 3-bed dorm! Was told by a fellow guest on the dingy stairs leading to the hostel 'don't be put off, it's probably the best hostel in China'. I'd be inclined to agree. Skeptical? see for yourself. Would recommend for sure and hope to return one day. If you haven't checked the map&directions it's not the easiest to find (from experience) as it's on the third floor, so check! enjoy your stay ;) Thanks team :D

Lovely hostel in an ideal location for the rice terraces. Great views and food, good bed. Some signposts around Ping'an might make it easier to find. Overall, a great stay, thanks guys :)

I had an enjoyable stay here and would return/recommend to others. It's a fantastic hostel with a great location by the waterfront and a pleasant stroll from the pedestrianised (food) area. However, it's a little tricky for getting to the bus/train station. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but I think I their information on how to get to the rice terraces by public bus was a little off-target (I'm not sure the bus I was told to catch exists...) Overall, a great place - thanks :)

Zhuo Ma's Jiuzhaigou Home-Stay

Jiuzhaigou, China

I had a great night here! Fascinating to stay in a Tibetan home and met some great people :) Meals are included: dinner was delicious, as was the fresh bread and honey breakfast. For the amount I paid to share a room with a stranger, I felt that being denied a sandwich for my 9hr bus ride (7:30am-Chengdu) was a little harsh. The location isn't ideal for walking to the Jiuzhai village food/shops/park entrance, but the free ride with Zhuo Ma's brother (speaks little english) makes up for it :)

Angelie Hotel

Jiuzhaigou, China

I had a good stay at the hotel, which is well-positioned for a visit to Jiuzhaigou (roughly a 10minute walk to the entrance). The owners were very friendly and helpful and could speak good English, the other girl who manned the desk was helpful but couldn't speak English, making communication a little more tricky, even with Google Translate! I'd recommend the place: good bed (the dorm was fairly sparse but I don't mind that) and good value for money. Thanks :)

Han Tang Inn Hostel

Xi'an, China

A fantastic hostel in the heart of Xi'an with a great atmosphere! Really enjoyed my time here and would have loved to stay longer. Staff were friendly and really helpful, especially with organising our early morning taxi to the airport. Thanks! :)

Leo Hostel

Beijing, China

A great hostel with a brilliant atmophere and location, my only regret was not staying for longer, would definitely recommend. Staff were very kind and helpful, thanks for such a great time in Beijing!

Had a great stay in a very clean, spacious dorm and slept well in the large bunk bed. Staff were friendly and helpful with sufficient English. Surrounded by shops so easy to stock up for a night on the mountain. Bit of a walk to the bus station for the shuttle up to Huangshan, but otherwise a perfect spring board!
