- The hostel was very clean and well located ... a really nice central location. - Atmosphere was nothing special (however, please note that we visited in December; the place was quite. I can just guess that it's likely a really nice place in the peak season). - If you arrive by car: (a) You cannot park outside the hostel. (b) We paid e50 for 2 nights parking in a carpark named San Agustin (Dec.) about 5 mins walk away (c) Apparently there is free car-parking near or at the train/bus station.
Positives: Very secure (electronic door keys like a good hotel); large lockers in the room too; very clean; Augustiner Beer House is across the road (lovely beers); decent kitchen; good wifi; so-so bar beside the common-area. Negatives: Feels like a long walk from city-centre; common area is too big & so harder to socalise within. Other:
Positives: The room was clean; kitchen stuff worked; staff were polite. Negatives: Location is out-of-town; no breakfast; it appears the aim of this hostel is to employ (possibly cheap polish) staff to collect money from people. Other: When you look at it on Google maps (or similar), it looks as though the area is served by a tram ... the tram line is indeed in-place, however a tram service does not run on the line. You will need a bus or taxi into town; the bus runs regularly.
Positives: Nice location (U-Bahn nearby); Clean; Nice bar in the basement; nice common areas; working wifi; the buffet breakfast is so-so. Negatives: The kitchen is not available to the paying guests. Other: -
Positives: Excellent staff; keys for bedroom doors & small safes there also; very relaxing place (cosy warm feeling; like staying at a friends house); very clean (everywhere); fair pricing; good wifi & also a computer in the common-room. ***STAFF MENTION: Mirjam, the success of 'Traveller's Haven' rests with her ... Mirjam is a gem of positivity, helpfulness, warmth & welcome ... Negatives: The common-room closes at 10:30pm ... the unisex shower-room can seem a little weird for some people.
Positives: Very nice staff that engage with the guests (eg. they cook an evening meal & a few beers); location is quite good (maybe 20 mins walk from the train station). Negatives: Expensive (Dorm ... e36 + e3 tourist tax); wifi was vary bad (intermittant connectivity); beds are very, very basic (the springs are almost broken so the bed feels more like a hammock); the hostel is dying & not spending any money to maintain it's services.
Positives: Central (about 15 mins walk from the Train station); very friendly staff; lockers with key in the bedroom(s); good & free wifi & a few computers available for use; hot water showers. Negatives: No key for the bedroom door(s).
Nothing really notable about the place ... it's near the train station (about 15 mins walk) on a dimly lit street. It's quite easy to find it & easy to walk to the town-centre from this hostel.

I had no problems here ... Even though I didn't get to stay here (my travel plans got a little messed-up the previous day) ... I arrived in Vertigo Centre on the morning of my check-out (a few hours before) & just asked to use the shower facilities; no problem ... I thought this was quite good.
Overall, this was a fine place. I had some delays at checkin (the room wasn't ready for near 3hrs after the posted checkin time ... it seems as though they don't have dedicated cleaning staff SO the poor unfortunate receptionist doubled-up as the cleaner ... he was having a very busy morn. Pi**ed me off a little as I was so tired ...). Staff were very polite. Area nice. Metro station nearby.
