Really nice hostel, probably one of the best I've stayed in. Really nice common room with a pool table, comfortable couches, and movies to watch. Dorms were clean and comfortable and had lots of room. Really appreciated the curtains to close off the beds so you don't disturb anyone with those early Colca Canyon wake ups! Fast wifi and probably the hottest showers in all of South America! The breakfast was really good as well. Overall not a single negative thing to say about this hostel.
Pro's: Good location, and bathrooms/dorm rooms were clean. Con's: The common room is the same room as the kitchen, and it wasn't very big. Also, staff was not particularly friendly or helpful. This is definitely more of a hotel than a hostel.
Pros: This hostel is great for meeting people. They have free beer every night and lots of drinking games. Most of the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Cons: Very loud as it's on a busy street. Also, the housekeeping is pretty much non-existent - our room had an ensuite which wasn't cleaned for 3 out of the 4 days I stayed there. The kitchen is absolutely disgusting and I don't think it has ever been cleaned. Also, there are only four plates in the entire hostel! WTF!
Rooms were cleanish, bathrooms not so much. My room was right in between the kitchen and the common room so it was quite noisy all the time and the quiet hours of 10PM to 10AM were definitely not enforced. Also, while the staff was incredibly welcoming, I was not impressed by the manager. He didn't seem very approachable and certainly wasn't nice to the staff, reprimanding them in front of the guests which was unprofessional and awkward. Would I stay here again? As a last resort.
Absolutely loved staying here. The staff was friendly and super helpful, and the hostel is probably one of the cleanest I've ever stayed in. Location is excellent - close to lots of bars and restaurants and close to lots of historical sites and shopping as well. A great experience overall.
