They couldn't find the key to our double room; didn't bother us much, because @ Jollyboys (Livingstone, Zambia) our dorm didn't have a lock/key! "Luggage storage" was one of the communal areas. > Security average! No need to worry about outsiders, but can't always trust other backpackers. Communal kitchen small + they cook breakfast etc. there. Location excellent for exploring Soweto, removed from Jo'burg centre. Excellent bicycle tours. Staff very helpful + friendly. Good vibe. Recommended!

Dorm had bunk beds only - no shelves or hooks, no space for stuff other than the floor and beds. No key to the dorm, the dorm is open all the time, and our door didn't close properly. Lockers available outside the dorms but bring your own lock or buy one from reception. Cannot pay with credit card - WTF moment of the day. Common kitchen full of cockroaches in the morning because the trash cans had been left open for the night - and they lock the kitchen for the night; utensil situation sad.
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. To comment on some of your points - the dorms do all have shelving/bookcases. There are lockers available in the common area, where we have CCTV cameras 24/7 and a safety deposit box in the reception. We lock the self catering kitchen from 11pm-6am has have unfortunately had guests help themselves to others food and/or leave cooking elements after too many beers.
