Whose suitcase? - Chei Chemodan?, St Petersburg, Russia
5.7
29th Sep 2016

Our private room was basically a closet. Only the beds (bunk beds) fit in the room...if we tried putting our bags inside, then we didn't fit. Some of the staff were amazing but others were not helpful at all. It was well located considering that we arrived from Moscow and there was a shopping center that had everything we needed. St. Petersburg is a big city so things aren't exactly at a walkable distance, but from the hostel you could walk to quite a few sites of interest.

It is relatively well located, yet we had to take some sort of transportation to get to the city's main sights. The place is nice and comfortable. There's a kitchen, but no where to cook, just refrigerator, sink and microwave. Its not a place to meet other fellow travelers, but you can meet locals who live at the hostel. We booked an ensuite twin private: THE BATHROOM WAS NOT ENSUITE OR PRIVATE!!! It wasnt the open bathrooms, but we still had to leave our room and share with another room.

More than a hostel, this was a hotel! We booked a twin private ensuite which was so much more than we expected. Even though the rooms were very small, we had all we needed. They would come in and clean every day and included breakfast which was served with a wonderful view of the sea. There's 24 hour reception in a very touristic are of the city. However, if you are looking for a place to socialize and meet new people, this is not what you are looking for. Absolutely recommended!

Lake Ohrid is a beautiful place to visit, and this hostel made it a great stay. Its a 5-7 minute walk to the main street and the lake itself, and has all the necessary things and it is well located. We stayed in a private room and had our own bathroom which made the stay even more comfortable.

The staff and the place were absolutely great, but we had the most horrible experience staying there since there was a group of over 20 boys who were a disaster. They ate all the breakfast that wasn't even included for them, used the bathrooms nonstop and ended up brushing their teeth in the kitchen sink... absolutely disgusting. The hostel itself was great, but the other guests made the experience very bad.

Everything we needed was available and the staff was great. We stopped by Podgorica to rest between stops, and wanted to chill in the room for the day. The staff was nice enough to let us stay until later. The room was very nice, had its own kitchen inside and we shared the bathroom only with one other room. It was right next to the bus station which made it very easy to arrive at night, but a 15 minute walk from the center of town.

Waaaay too expensive for what it was. I understand it is a tourist town, but it was way to expensive. It was a good one night stay but when we tried to extend it, there was no availability and the staff was not helpful at all. When we arrived late at night we were told that "we were lucky" there was someone there, when we had specifically messaged them saying we arrived late (we even sent them the bus that we would arrive on).

Located right next to the bus station it is also a 5 minute walk from the main street and therefore an 8 minute walk to the old bridge. The owner was a wonderful lady who was very helpful and prepared great breakfast! Perfect one night stay to visit the small town.

The staff was initially nice but then they became quite unhelpful. The coffee making facilities do not exist.... There is coffee and tea available but you must ask for water, cups spoons etc. every time you want to make something for yourself. The place is relatively close to train station but its up a pretty steep hill to get up. During the day its easy to get there, but it is not a route to do at night. It is a 20 minute walk from the main downtown.

For an overnight stay to get an early train, this was more than perfect. The staff was amazing, and even helped with our bags up the staircases from the street up three floors and made us coffee when we arrived. The room was big and clean, the bathrooms were separated and therefore it was no problem in the morning and the kitchen was very functional.

The owners of the place were an older couple who were the most amazing hosts for us. The room was what we needed, but since it was in the attic the diagonal ceiling made the place so much smaller. We had a small kitchen and a shared bathroom but since there was no one else, it was perfect.

Alfredo was an amazing host, he even took us to the train station at 8am when we left! The house was very nice, extremely clean and recently renovated. We had a huge room to ourselves with a tv and even a little "kitchen" inside (only a fridge and microwave). This was exactly what we needed to take a break during our trip. The place is at a 15-min walk from the main park and 10 minutes from the city center. From the train station we took a taxi: it was a 6-min ride and they charged us 10 lei.

We made our way to the hostel, which is not at a walking distance as said on the directions. It took us almost an hour to walk with our bags uphill from the station to the hostels middle-of-nowhere location. Since it started raining on the way, we were expecting to be let inside to wait since we understand early checkins are impossible. However, even though one of the staff members (Alex) was there, we were left outside in the rain to wait. After the wait, we went to our room and it was filthy.

We are located in the picturesque Upper Town of thessaloniki in Sachtouri str.which is literally 14mins on foot from the train station(check on google maps)or 7 mins by car.We open doors at 8a.m,check in is after 12:30pm (as stated),of course till then you can drop your luggage in the storage room and relax in our common areas and the garden.I guess that the frustration of you getting lost-walking with your bags, plus that rain is the reason of this review. But still,I don't believe that reason is enough to be rude to our staff member.Anyways,I appreciate that you choose to visit us.I feel that if you were not so tired that day of arrival you would have much fun.

Athens Choice was more a Hotel than a hostel. It was absolutely perfect for our stay since we wanted to relax and enjoy Athens and its surroundings for a week. The breakfast was excellent, the staff was extremely polite and helpful and everything was very clean. The area where it is located is probably not the best at night, but it was extremely comfortable since all the places we wanted to visit were near by.

Darko (who we believe is the owner) is the best host in the world. After a two month trip around central and eastern Europe this is the best hostel we have stayed in. He went to pick us up from the bus station (but sadly we missed him). We arrived at the hostel and since it was full, he took us to a lovely apartment only for us. The second night we stayed in another property which was right in the middle of the old town, the perfect location for Dubrovnik.

Our stay in the hostel and the city were great, except we had no idea the Ultra festival was going on, making everything very crowded and the hostel (along with many other things) EXTREMELY expensive compared to any other time of the year. The staff was great and the hostel was fine but only had two bathrooms for over 20 people, so packed as it was this was a problem, especially because toilet, shower and sink are in a single room.

The place is well located and most of the staff was helpful. Since the hostel is very big, we bumped into a couple of crowds of very young travellers, which made the place quite noisy. Every time we left the hostel we had to leave the key, which wasnt good since we had taken a private room for the group. Wifi did not work in the rooms but it was fine in the common area. Even though the hostel says it does not have a kitchen area, this was very uncomfortable. Lockers are available after check out

This place was amazing. It was very comfortable and extremely well located. We stayed in a 3-bed private and each bed had its own closet, desk and night table. There was a complete buffet breakfast, apart from a two kitchens you could use at any time. The place was clean and even though the bathrooms were shared and mixed (for both men and women) we never had to wait for a shower in the morning. The wi-fi connection was probably not the best in the bedrooms, but it was good in the common areas.

The hostel was great. It was all we needed and had a perfect location. However, even though most facilities were as presented, this Hostel does not have free breakfast. Even though the Free Breakfast is stated in the description, the free facilities and things to note when we asked at what time it was served, they said that had only been a special summer promotion. After our comment, we believe they fixed this. Also, there are only two bathrooms for close to 20 people, which is an issue...

This was exactly what we needed to take a break after running around Romania and continuing our Eastern Europe. Apart from Timisoara being a beautiful city, the people in the Hostel were extremely nice and helpful making our stay even better. The hostel is incredibly well located and within the price range for the city. The only problem was the bathroom. There was only one bathroom with toilet, sink and shower together to be shared between 10 people.

The staff was more than amazing. The hostel is located a bit far from the old town and the train station, but is in a very quiet neighborhood with all the basics around the corner (supermaket 1 block away, banks 3 blocks away, bus stop at the corner). Even if it is a bit far you may still walk or take public transportation: 25-min walk from the train station (Taxi 6 lei, Bus 2 lei), 40-min walk from the old town (Bus 2 lei). We had an issue with the bathroom, but asked for help to fix it.

Our stay at Vila 11 was excellent. It was well located considering how close it was to the main train station, but a little far from the old town. We were received by Deborah, who was absolutely great! She gaves us great tips and help with everything we needed. Along with her husband and 5 children, there is a true family feel in the B&B, which was much appreciated since one of the girls in the group was sick for a couple of days and they were all more than helpful with us.

We had a huge private room for 4 in an apt different from the main hostel. It had 2 other rooms and 2 WC + 2 showers were shared among them all. There was a fully equipped kitchen and even though it said it did not include breakfast, the first day we got up there was cereal, coffee, bread and jam available for us. The only thing we didn't like was the free dinner offer, don't believe it! The dinner actually happened, but they didn't know how many people would come, so we barely tried the food

By far one of the best hostels we stayed at during our trip to Eastern Europe. Even though it is not centrally located, Krakow is so small the place is less than 10 minutes away from the historical center and 15 minutes away from the central train/bus station. The rooms are comfortable and clean, there are two bathrooms to be shared by all the rooms (6?) but we never had to wait to use them. The breakfast was great and the staff was amazing. We really loved this place!

The location and the staff were amazing, however on the day we arrived one of the rooms had been completely destroyed so we all ended up in different rooms. The staff managed it very well, but it was a bit of a bummer. The place has a nice atmosphere, especially if you intend to party.... If you are looking for a place to calm down and rest, you might want to find a place that is less central. The people were very respectful and none of the guests were noisy, but the street is.
