Tiny toilets. Smallest I have ever been in! Night manager is a bit rude. Barging into the room in the morning without knocking to remind you to check out in 15mins. Wtf?! 8 bed room should only be a 6 (like it looks like it was originally) Very cramped. Also rooms on front of building get extremely hot in the warmer weather. Good location, but stay somewhere else with more atmosphere.

Very long waits at reception on the 4 or 5 times I had to speak to them. 15-20mins. Lift is very slow. Rooms are nice and new and fairly clean. Great location. Close to metro. Not bad, but you can get better for what you pay here. Also, very big mix of people, from new born babies to 90yo's with walking frames.

Hello D, thanks for your review. It is never nice to wait in line, even though it is expected sometimes when it is high season. However, we aim to make sure that once it’s your turn you will get the best service possible. Our reception is open 24/7, so guests can relax at our bar or in the lounge area until the reception is not so busy. Team Generator Cph

Hostel room doors require locking with a key, which a lot of people don't do. Could do with a better system. Shower screens are near clear only having a few white narrow lines around the waist area. In a shared bathroom. Not very private. Common area was cold feeling, situated right in the hostel entrance. Not the worst hostel I've stayed at, but there are much better ones to choose from in Madrid!

Some of the nicest hostel staff I have ever met! Friendly, helpful, funny, amazing! They really need to improve security though. Rooms need to be locked with a key, which they don't supply. Luckily the rooms have lockers for storing your valuables. This and the use of the washing machine is dependent on if the staff are using it. I checked in for 4 days and it was never available for guests. If they improve these two points they would be the best hostel I've ever stayed in!

Staff are great Like most hostels it could be cleaner, but I have seen much worse. Good kitchen, but no oven. And also no forks or teaspoons! Byo! The one and only bad thing about this place is the manager, Said. He is rude and should not be in this industry. Shook me awake at 8am telling me checkout is 10am. Then woke everyone else in the room to tell them the hostel is for sleeping at night. If they want to sleep all day they can go to the park!! Good hostel. Terrible manager.

Hostel situated in an old pub. Saying that, this is an old building and it shows. Toilet smelt bad and constantly was blocked. Floors move as you walk on them. Staff were useless. Very little knowledge of basic things like transport and good eats. 'Kitchen' consists of a kettle, microwave and a fridge that stunk. No running water! Smoking area outside has no cover.

Smart Camden Hostel

A nice hostel in Camden. Close to everything you need. Rooms are a little cramped but nice enough room with ensuite bathroom. It should be noted. This place gives accommodation to ex-prisoners and people deported from other countries. There was a African American who had just done 8 years for murder and was a gang member sporting colors among the many ex convicts staying. Another was a person who had been in a Thai jail for 20 years. Avoid staying here unless you are VERY open minded.
