A very good location, very helpful and friendly staff and very clean. I only have an advice: please fix the card payment so guests can pay with (debit) cards.

The location is great and the staff is very helpful, but that's the only good thing about this hostel. The 6 bed dorms are so tiny there is very little space to place your belongings. My food was stolen from the fridge even when labeled. The cleaning staff is taking care of the dorms and living room, but they totally avoid the showers. There are ONLY two toilets in the whole hostel, and both are located on the ground floor. Worst thing ever. Why is such a problem to place one toilet downstairs??

Overall a pleasant hostel, there is only one remark: there are no common PCs available, which is really outrageous. You should get at least two PC's in the living room or in the corridor for the guests that don't have laptops or phones or need to do sth urgently. I've been travelling for last 10 yrs and this is the 2nd hostel that does not have common PCs. Get that fixed ASAP please.

As somebody previously wrote, this place is a backpacker hole. And that is a very accurate description. If you're into something tidy, with many facilities and staff that cares at all, go elsewhere. Huge plus - there is a kitchen (I was in hostels in London which don't have a kitchen at all) Huge minuses - normal speed WiFi is not free, food disappearing from the fridge for TWO consecutive days even when it was LABELED, some of staff were unpleasant, new bed linen which was quite dirty.

Thanks for review! I do think hole's an unfair description though. Wifi's free in common areas (speed affected by no of people on it). You can pay £1 for faster in-room wifi. Bed linen's professionally laundered, so just ask reception if there's a problem & they'll swap it. We've replaced 2 reception staff recently who didn't meet our high customer service levels, so I hope that will improve the guest experience. We also have ensuites, roof terrace & table football - good going for London! :)

This hostel probably is the best choice in Helsinki when it comes to price vs. offer ratio. It's not at all far away from the center, and is actually the first hostel I stayed in which is a member of HI association and where staff is helpful and not rude (had very bad experiences in Zagreb and Vilnius). Only bad thing is that wifi is restricted to a small living room near the reception, so please fix that, people will be grateful.

The hostel is very pleasant, the stuff is patient and helpful, the breakfast is good for the price - we even got it free the first day. But the fact that there is no kitchen that travellers can use (or at least a spot with a simple microwave oven and water heater, tea and coffee) is unforgivable. I've been to around 20 hostels and this is the first without these elementary things.
