All the furniture was very old. There was not enough bathrooms for the guests. They were tearing down the building next to the hostel and the noise was terrible. On the nighttime there was also some noise coming from the streets. The staff was kind but their English was really bad. Breakfast was bread and coffee. On top of this all, we found termites from our room the morning we were leaving. Wouldn't recommend this hostel to anyone.
The price was more than we got used to on our trip around Portugal but it was worth it. Location was near the river and the fish market. Our room was very tidy and new. A minus to the location was the noise coming from the street on the night time, there was a local bar right across the street. Breakfast was better than normal, including home-made apple pie which was delicious.
Location was very nice at the old centre of the city close to Sé cathedral and the old train station. Short distances everywhere. Our room was clean and very new, and the view from our window was awesome. The breakfast was better than normal, but you still had to wash your dishes after. The hostel had an elevator which is a huge plus in Portugal where you have to climb stairs pretty much everywhere you go. :)
The location was nice, right next to the old cathedral and other main sights. Staff was nice, they hosted a pubcrawl for the guests and came drinking with everyone to the pub down the street. Breakfast was really nice, there was a sandwich grill which was great. :P The room was better than you could hope for, a clean and new ensuite with AC.
