I could not have been happier with my stay at Casa Aladina. It was very close to the main entrance of San Gimignano, and was central to all of the major sites I wanted to see. The owner was wonderful, and suggested great restaurants and less tourist-ridden sites in this beautiful area. My bed was very comfortable, as was the bathroom. And the price was great - only slightly more than I spent to stay with 4 other people in hostels in other areas of Italy.
I could not have asked for a better place to stay. The location was superb - as someone traveling with a backpack, it was close to the bus stop from Florence. As someone who likes to walk and wander, it was on the main stretch to do just that. The owners were wonderful - very friendly and accommodating, suggesting great places to check out while also allowing me to be independent and self-sufficient. Very clean, comfortable, and endearing. I would certainly stay again! Siena is stunning.
Plus Florence was well located for walking to the major sites in Florence, although traveling alone I did not explore much at night given the neighbourhood. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was comfortable. It was nice to be able to lock up my bags in the lockers provided as well. The hostel is very large and great for those who want to party and socialize. Internet was an issue and was difficult to access, making trip planning frustrating. Good for those looking to party while traveling.

I found that this hostel provided a lovely space to enjoy the beauty of Manarola and Cinque Terra. While rustic at times (e.g., time limited showers and Internet available only in common areas), the atmosphere, Riccardo's enthusiasm and the wonderful staff, the views and town, and the kitchen and reasonably priced tasty food, made this place a great place to stay! It's a place for early nights and early mornings - perfect for those wanting to hike and explore. I would stay again!
