Kisumu Hostel

Kisumu, Kenya
100%

I can't recommend Kisumu Hostel highly enough, it really is a fantastic place to stay. It feels like a cross between a hostel and a family home, in the best possible way - Lillian and Chris are extremely welcoming hosts, and go the extra mile to get to know their guests and help them with anything they need. You really do feel at home! Everything is clean and modern, the rooms are spacious and well equipped, laundry facilities are available (and cheap!) and the optional meals are delicious.

Milimani Backpackers

Nairobi, Kenya

Milimani Backpackers is by far the best budget accommodation I have stayed in in Nairobi. The staff really go out of their way to make you feel welcome, there's a great communal area, the location is ideal (in a safe area, around 30 mins walk from the city centre and on the right side of town for the airport), and the internet connection is fantastic (which is definitely not the case in most budget hostels!). The only thing which could improve the experience is plug sockets in the dorm rooms.
