DO NOT take the directions they provide from the train station. The #11 bus took us to the completely wrong area going in both directions! I would recommend printing a map before arriving and finding your own way because it took us more than 2 hours to figure it out. That was a major flaw. Aside from that, everything was fine.
This was a hotel, not a hostel. I think that perhaps they knew we were young, since we booked on hostelworld, and therefore stuck us in a reject room (it was in the attic with low ceilings and a small window) where older couples may have complained. There were also dried bugs on the ceiling. But aside from that, it was a positive experience - comfy beds and good location. I would recommend not booking this on hostelworld, but this isn't a bad option for price/convenience/safety in venice.
Sonnenhof was the perfect place to stay in Interlaken! It's cozy and comfortable and is really well located. The staff are very friendly and have great suggestions for restaurants and activities. We actually ended up having our 6 bed dorm to ourselves for both nights, which was a nice perk. The kitchen is wonderful as well! We'd definitely recommend it :)
Loved that they played The Sound of Music every night! There were lots of friendly people, but the staff wasn't all that helpful... It kind of seemed like we were a nuisance to them. Beds were good as we're rooms!
We had a great stay at the Steam Engine! We stayed in the 12 person room, and although it was small it didn't feel cramped. Everyone we met was very friendly and the staff were fantastic. The bathrooms had little privacy and were small and few, but we only had to wait one morning and they were extremely clean which made up for it. Definitely would recommend.
