Great staff really great, room is average, observatory run down and in Feb you are unable to sit outside, really derelict. Avoid" all you can eat Tortila & beer for ¥50"omlette with spoonfull minced meet, lettuce, onion, mayo & guacamole, awful. But saved by Mr Shir, the taxi driver who took me to Luashan mountain, he is great, really passionate about Qingdao, ask for him at reception, doesnt just take you to mountain also drives around giving you history of Qingdao, speaks great English.
Great hostel, lovely helpful and welcoming staff, great lounge/bar, excellent breakfast, room was spacious, warm, cleanest hostel ive stayed in my 5 months travelling China and very comfy. Worth every penny.Employees speak good English too and have great suggestions on where to go and how to get there.
A great hostel, booked 5 nights but stayed 8.Fantastic location, great staff, extremely clean.Very welcoming and joined in Chinese new year celebrations with everyone which was a fantastic experience, amazing food and company, really made me welcome ti join in as a lone traveller. Been backpacking china and staying in hostels for 5 months and this was definateky in my top 2 hostels. Single rooms like hotel but atmuspher, bar, staff are like a hostel.
The address is no longer the Mosque which I discovered after walking around with a 20kg backpack at a temp of -28, freezeing, 7 days inn told me they had moved and let me use their internet to search new address, For 4 months ive backpacked round China and stayed in a lot of hostels, hear my words...Room 109 is the worst room to date, stinks like a sewer, poured bleach down the bathroom drain and after 20mins smell returned, room was far too overheated really made me feel unwell. Also given rou
Ok, very busy, I had a double room which was basic, no wifi accept in busy, loud lounge area. When I mentioned free breakfast came with booking 3 nights they didnt know what I was talking about I had to show them the website which stated free breakfast. I was then presented with 2 slices of hard toast, frozen butter and 2 slices of undercooked bacon, not exactly as advertised. Asked for bus route to Shaolin Temple, spent 2 hrs on a bus they told me to get that went to the middle of nowhere!!!
The employees were fabulous, as if the cafe. Unfortunately I booked ensuite which none of rooms have, shared bathroom really smelt and was quite dirty when I used it despite the fact the shower was a power shower and always red hot water, No wifi accept for in cafe and heater in room didnt work. Staff were really friendly and couldnt have been better.
Lovely helpful people but terrible room. It wasnt a room as such just a bed in a glass box on the roof, only cold airconditioning, glass sliding door doesnt lock, when mentioned they showed me video camera on room, and you have to go outside and down stairs for shower which was cleaned once during my stay.No English but used translate app...lovely lovely people, shame about room I had though, wish I had asked to be moved as it was cold and noisy from bars at night.
In comparison to what is on offer in HongKong this was great, extremely tiny room with really clmfy bed, great shower and clean, perfect location and cheaper than the dorm I had been in for 2 nights previously. Would stay there again
Excellent staff, dorm would have bern comfy if it hadnt have been for the light shining in through the window all night, really needs blinds or curtains, tiny showers that are good but not quite as clean as theg could be, I stayed 2 nights, despite the great staff and fab chinese breakfast resturant visit im not sure I would stay here again as really noisy from people sitting up talking alnight right outside the femal dorm which is where the sofas are.
Stayed gere twice during my China travels, clean, comfy and really helpful. My flight had been messed up by the provider theg kindly helped me find the next available flight as I was struggling to find one, it worked out cheaper booking it through the hostel as well. lovely friendly common area, and beautiful outdoor seated area on sunny days.
This is a stunning location, set right in the paddy fields, amazing sunsets from the roof.Although Jackie wasnt there much he did give me a fantastic drawn map for a days walk and booked my train ticket and arranged transport to the train station. Jackys mum is amazing, no English but we communicated via body language and google translate, lovely warm hearted lady who really looked after me, i have fond memories of my stay, very friendly. This is more like a homestay, with real chinese food.
Wonderfull stay, friendliest most helpful staff, great food and fantastic location. Lobby area is really comfy, loved the music in the background. They organised the Yangtze xruise and walked me to the boat and to my cabin, we even explored the boat together which was really nice as im travelling alone. Cruise on The Blue Whale was fab, amazing food and English guide, very hospitable, couldnt have done more to ensure a comfy stay.
This hostel was great, welcoming staff with really helpful travel desk who gave great advice and helped with onward travel.Food was good as id the comfy bar area, The gardens within the center of the courtyard are lovely and so relaxing which is needed after a day into the city.
Very cute warren, extremely small rooms, food ok, roof top terrace is nice, 1of staff gave me incorrect directions, another said theg had booked me a taxi to the airport and didnt and the savouf was a wonderful young man there who carried my rucksack to the main street and hailed a taxi for which I was so greatful for as I hadnt had much sleep during my stay from the noisy street outside. But fantastic location. Although I have stayed in better hostels in beijjng since that are half the price.
