Ukelele Hostel

BE VERY CAREFUL: The lockers are not safe at all and we got mugged >300US$!! The lockers are open on the rear so a thieve could easily get our money out without even breaking the locks. It happened to other travelers as well. And as the hostel tells people to put valuables in the lockers and pretend that they are safe, the hostel is responsible for what happened. Too bad, because the house is beautiful. But the 12 bed dorm is way too noisy - it is impossible to sleep.

Cute house. Just some hundred meters to the historic center. BBQ is not worth the money as meat was way too done. But wine includes refills which is nice.

Open House Barra

Beautiful house, art style. We had a huge and nice decorated room. Breakfast was very nice and different to what we had in other places (what we liked). Location (Barra) felt very safe. You need to take a bus to the historic center but it's within walking distance of beaches and restaurants. Very nice hostel!

It is a cosy place to stay. We have had a double room but as the place was not booked out and the dorms are upstairs (the double rooms are downstairs), the dorm might even be a better deal. No breakfast but you can use the kitchen area which is well equiped. The old woman is funny and speaks basic English. She is around all the time, cleaning or talking to guests. There is a younger woman which speaks very good English but we just saw her one time. We felt save. Close to center and beach.

Green Grass Hostel

Sao Paulo, Brazil

We have enjoyed our stay here a lot. Sao Paulo was our first stop in Brasil and the hostel is located in a very nice area. Close to the metro station and many restaurants and stores around. The hostel staff is speaking English and the owner is very nice. He took us to a football match which was a very cool thing to do. Breakfast has been nice.

Sol Atacama Hostel

It was very cheap that is why we have booked it. The owner is very nice and speaks English. Everything was ok but it was not too nice. We needed too move to other hostels because of the National holiday so we know that there are cosier places in town. However, it is one of the cheapest for sure. We had a double room which we think is much better value than the dorm. The kitchen area is not very nice as it was outside and not very clean.
