Parkview Guesthouse

Cambridge, England

This place is incredibly clean, we stayed in a lovely double bedroom with a tv, a desk, coffee making facilities. Unfortunately we left very early in the morning and couldn't enjoy their breakfast, but the kitchen area was a very nice one. The only downside was that it took us some time (and a lot of walking) to get to the city centre. But definitely good value for money. You won't find anything cheaper with such good quality in Cambridge.

We stayed in an ensuite private double room (penthouse 3) and it was wonderful! Our room was huge (with a private kitchen, sofa, desk, 2 armchairs...). There were lots of stairs, but as we didn't have any luggage with us (just our backpacks) that wasn't a problem at all. Location is excellent! In the middle of Old Town, next to the station, near all the main attractions. Staff is very nice and it's a great place to meet people. Definitely great value for money!

Loved it! Derek(the owner) is extremely nice and helpful. We were greeted with great maps, tips on what to do, on how to get around, everything was very useful to us! Location is great, very close to acton town station and the tube goes straight to the centre of the city, and if you buy an oyster card (as we did),you won't have a worry in the world. The hostel is very clean, located near banks, a supermarket, restaurants, a laundrette. We will definitely stay there again when we go back to London!

Sefton Park Hotel

Liverpool, England

It's a beautiful place, with wonderful views of Sefton park. There's a really nice restaurant downstairs, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. The only problem for us was the distance from the city centre, since we were only staying for the weekend. We had to take taxis to and from the centre, which cost around £7 each way. But besides that, it's a very good place with a great price.

Walkabout

Manchester, England

The place smells horribly, the reception is always closed, so you can never find someone if you need anything (we basicaly just checked-out ourselves in the morning!), the rooms are not cleaned during your stay, the wi-fi does not work very well. Although it is indeed located in the city centre, so that is the only positive thing I can say about this hotel. I definately wouldn't reccommend it to anyone.
