Kia Ora Budgetstay

Fukuoka City, Japan

Dorms were good, reminded me of a deluxe vesion of the capsule hotels (in contrast to the normal bunk-beds). Close to the station, but make sure you go to the ANNEX (there are two buildings). WiFi in the common area and in the rooms, so that's a plus. Overall I had a pleasant stay.

Nice hostel, good location, easy to find.

Aso Base Backpackers

Kumamoto Pref Volcano Aso, Japan

Best hostel I've stayed in during my 3week trip in Japan. If you're going to Aso, you're going to Base!

Green Guest House

Kagoshima, Japan

Nice place, especially since its so cheap! Do bring earplugs in the dormitory though, traffic can be a bit loud.

Love the KsHouse's, location is easy to find and close to the station, if ypu want some assurance for a proper hostel, with nice facilities and staff with lots of good suggestions for in and around the city, look no further!

IM Guest House

Osaka, Japan

Nice location through a Shoutengai, my dorm shower could've used a good cleaning though.. let's just say I was glad I brought some flipflops.

Backpacker MATSUYADO

Matsumoto, Japan

Hard to find, but once you arriive it's nice. The staff was really nice and you get some good advice for activities (Matsumoto itself doesn't have a lot going for it, so ask around!). Rooms were okay, shower/toilets as well.

It's okay for the low amount of money that you spend. Because you can't really seal off your capsule (there's a curtain, that's it), it doesn't really keep the snor-ers out, and lockers for big luggage have rates per 12 hours. Capsules are big/wide enough to fit a bag in though. Wifi is really good, but only available on certain floors (probably not in your capsule). Just some things to take into consideration, if you're not bothered by this, then the price/quality is quite fine.
