Sophie's Hostel

Prague, Czech Republic

Gem of a hostel. Lovely rooms, good breakfast, immaculately clean. The true MVPs of this hostel are the staff. They are friendly and super helpful. They'll show you their favorite spots on their custom map. They set me up with great walking tours of the city. A great place to stay if you're traveling solo as bar is always crowded and fun. Word of warning: the offered pub crawl is overpriced, you can buy your own drinks and follow the group for free!

Wombats City Hostel Munich

Munich, Germany

This seemed more like a hotel than a hostel, which in Wombat's case is a great thing! Hostel is very clean, lockers are large and secure, breakfast is a good value, and staff was always willing to answer my questions or recommend a tour. Dachau tour was amazing and powerful. The only complaint is that it can get rather loud and hot in the rooms, so earplugs are a must. Overall, a great stay and I'm looking forward to Wombats Berlin. Cheers!

Overnativa Green Hostel

Ilha Grande, Brazil

The staff was excellent--very kind and helpful. They let us stash our luggage before and after checkout, even letting us take showers before our ferry ride off the island! The only major problem were bugs--there were several dead mosquitoes on everyone's beds. As such, we had to kill them nightly and keep our window closed=hot room.

Casarao Verde Itacare

Itacare, Brazil

Beautiful hostel. Rooms very kept up, plenty of options for those traveling on a budget or those wanting more privacy. Great and helpful staff--she helped us set up surfing lessons which were the highlight! One thing to note is it is a 10 minute walk to the beach from this location. Since few hostels are on the actual beaches in Itacare, this isn't a huge deal, just something to know! Overall one of the best hostels I've stayed at and I HIGHLY recommend it!

Hostel Black and White

Morro de Sao Paulo, Brazil

Staff and hostel room was nice. Got a hammock to swing outside the room. Consistent problems with showers, struggled to get hot water for anyone. Tough to ventilate the room too so it got pretty humid and muggy.

Brumas Hostel HI

Ouro Preto, Brazil

More than anything, the location makes this place great! Literally a street over from the main square with museums, bars, you name it! Great breakfast in the morning as well. Only thing, you need to know basic Portuguese to interact with the staff, but if you do, you're good to go!
