City Circus Athens, Athens, Greece

I traveled around southern Europe for 2 months, staying in over 20 hostels in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece, and this hostel was definitely in the top 3, maybe even the best. It's very new, only opened last year. Passionate staff. In-house kitchen where you can buy a meal in the evening for €5,-. Good room. Epic roof terrace view of the acropolis. Just all-round great place, which I would certainly come back to if in Athens again.

Robby's House, Naples, Italy

It's an apartment turned into a B&B in one of the bad parts of town. Naples as a whole is rather gritty, but this B&B is in one of the poorer areas. Really not a pleasant environment, where even being a tall guy I didn't feel safe walking around outside after dark. Next time I'll find something in a better part of Naples.

Wow Roma, Rome, Italy

Location is great, right next to the main train station Roma Termini, where you've got the bus station and the two metro lines as well. The room was ok, bed was good enough but not great, internet was fast enough and available in the room. The only major downside was the water temperature in the shower, which was pretty much impossible to keep warm for longer than 20 seconds. That really needs to be improved. Apart from that, good B&B, I would recommend it.

Very nice hostel in an old school building. They've got a theather in-house which they use on some evenings for shows, dj's, which is great, but do remember to bring earplugs if you want to sleep. One thing that needs to be improved: internet doesn't reach the rooms, only the shared areas.

Very nice place right in the middle of town. It's two apartments turned into B&B. The owner doesn't stay there herself, so I didn't see her a lot. The place is clean, modern, pretty nice. There's one big downside for a digital solo-traveler like me: no internet/wifi. That's really not of this day and age and should be added asap. You can go to the library close by to use the internet, but that's a distant second best option.

The place is an apartment turned into a hostel. Great staff, but the place is on the inside of a building and therefore a bit dark. Good for staying a day, but I wouldn't stay there longer.

Excellent place, spacious room, helpful staff. Pretty nice restaurant right next door to the right and a good breakfast/lunch place to the left two streets down. The hostel is not in the best area, but nothing bad either. I would definitely recommend this place.
