Saga is fairly close to a metro station and places to eat. The wifi is slightly poor. The beds are nice, good sheets, lockers for your things, helpful staff. Decent prices considering the rest of the hostels in BJ
The ladies at the front desk are as helpful as they are beautiful. From difficult bookings, to trains, to planes, it was all handled with huge generosity. This hostel has some enormous and interesting interior design, and plenty of places to curl up with a book and a thermos to be alone, or go to the bar and socialize. It's proximity to the Green Lake is nice as well. The beds were pristinely clean, full-duvet-comfortable, sturdy bunk beds in the dorm. This place does it sooo right.
The owners here will make sure that your experience in Varanasi is a good one. They are extremely personable, kind, and genuinely interested in your experience at their hotel. Ask them any question you have about India, and they are sure to give you a valuable answer. They will help you with logistics and the planning of your India trip. The rooms are spacious with nice little balconies, the food (made upon request) is delicious and very homey. Homemade chai as you sit on your balcony is great.
What makes this place is the owner, Dr. Malik. He will help you with absolutely anything that you need, from train tickets, to advice about India. During my stay here, I was treated extremely well, all of my questions were answered, I was comfortable, and the free breakfast is a nice plus. As an introduction to India, this is a nice place to stay.
This hostel is without a doubt exceptional. I HIGHLY recommend that you stay here while in Porto, you have access to galleries, restaurants, parks, views. Rainfall showers, beautiful architecture, yummy food and breakfast, excellent staff service. My one criticism, which should be overlooked because, on a whole this place is amazing, is that the heating isnt great in the winter... maybe this is a Portuguese thing, but I found it annoying. Stay here, you will be glad you did I promise.
