A nice hostel, one of the showers was awesome, the other not so much. Staff were helpful, let us leave our bags there all day and even shower before we could check in. The rooms get hot pretty quickly in the morning so sleep ins are out of the question
A few broken toilets and showers let this place down a bit, really limits things when there aren't too many to start with. Then there was the staff, maybe they were being trained not sure but everything took FAR too long. It took over 45 mins to check out, shouldn't take that long for me to give money away, I ended up leaving without change because it was just getting ridiculous, same problem when we tried to book the airport transfer
Wow! we had a private room and it felt like an expensive hotel. We had a corner room with floor to ceiling windows giving great views onto the plaza below. Bathroom was clean and the shower was hot with great pressure. Only downside is no breakfast included which seems weird as even the small hostels in SA throw that in, but other then that Loki was fantastic.
The private rooms were quite small but they had everything you need and were clean so can't complain, they even throw in a TV which is always a welcome bonus. The breakfast was great, and the staff very helpful with booking tours and the bus to Bolivia.
The owner went out of his way to be helpful, really friendly and chill vibe. The private rooms were spacious and shower was clean. The rooftop hangout is cool too
The showers in the private rooms were awesome, steaming hot water :)
We made a lot of friends here, the atmosphere is really friendly and laid back with everything revolving around the common areas. The staff are great and Sandra (owner) is also super friendly. Our rooms were always clean, as were the shared bathrooms. It's a short walk to old town, but the free walking tour leaves from 2 blocks away so it was perfect
Great location, a couple blocks back from the beach. The tours from here are great and they pick you up from the hostel, having fox sports was also a great bonus. Showers are scattered throughout but we never had an issue finding a free one, and they are always clean
The staff were fantastic and the location is right in the centre of town, the only let down for us was the shower, the drain was blocked so it overflowed with soapy water leaving it un-useable :(
A nice, cosy hostel located just behind the main street. Breakfast was good and served nice and early for those heading out on tours or treks. The owner was lovely and had lots of recommendations for things to see around town. There are blockout blinds on the windows as well which are a must when the sun doesn't set until after 10 :)
Nice private rooms with clean bathrooms. Wifi was a bit shaky but that seems normal for SA, they have activities on every day, the pub crawl was a great tour to meet like-minded travellers. We were booked onto the wrong tour to Tigre and had to endure a 2 hour bus ride with spanish speaking seniors but when we explained it to the hostel they apologised and gave us free tickets to their pub crawl that night, can't complain about that ;)
I thought this hostel was just "ok" until night time rolled around. I'm all for people partying etc but we were on the 2nd floor so quite close to the street and the noise was never ending up until about 5am, which would have been ok if it weren't for the drunks throwing empty bottles and things up at the hostel windows. Did not feel very safe or secure. Other then that was not so bad, although the staff seemed less then knowledgeable and not very enthusiastic to help you out, not the best stay
A few blocks walk to the shops/cafes but its not too far. There is a nice big kitchen to use and the staff and other travellers were all nice and welcoming. The skylight in the room wakes you up perhaps a bit too early. Quite a nice and clean hostel
The staff and other backpackers were all very friendly. Our room was quite spacious and clean, the flat screen TV was also a bonus. There was a skylight in our room which didn't bother us as we were leaving early anyway but it might wake others earlier then they would like. You have to walk a couple of blocks to get back into the thick of the shops and cafes but all-in-all this is a nice hostel to stay at.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, we were instantly upgraded to a better room on arrival which had a tv and private bathroom! The rooms were clean and had great views over the lake. The atmosphere was non existant but it was a Thursday night. Location is great, one street back from the waterfront and surrounded by excellent cafes!
This was a fun hostel with a surprisingly good atmosphere. There is a bar on site which is currently the only bar in the town so you get to mingle with the locals and other backpackers. The service was also very good, we arrived back half an hour after food stopped but after a quick chat with the cook they were happy to throw a pizza together for us :)
