Staff friendly and helpful. Old building, It's a hotel, not a hostel. Worn but claen infrastructure, small 6-bed dorm in basement, dark, ensuite bathroom makes room humid. 4-bed dorm upstairs in a attick room, wooden floors and stairs with carpets are a fire hazard. Showers have no shower lever. Blankets not clean, ask for bedsheets. No lockers, keep valuables with you as the closed door can be opened with a gentle push. Gloomy common room and a bar without bartender. Only one key per room.

Gabriel Hostel

Location is a 15 minutes walk from the centre. Ultra clean with a lady of the house who keeps things firm in hand and that results in an impressive list on the walls of do's en don'ts (one is pretty particular: 'clean up the water on the floor and remove your hair from the sink in the shower'). You have to negociate for a bedsheet and a very small towel is for rent for 5 LEI. Basic breakfast with bread, butter, jam, coffee or tea. No vibe or ambience in the place, but it's very quiet.

Owner Comment (Hide)
Thank you. Ok, in any other hostel are lists or rules on the walls,in the rooms or bathroom.There's nothing strange to clean after your shower that other tourists can use the bathroom.When everything is shared: rooms, bathroom it's normal to have respect. Each bed has bedsheet, I do not understand what you negotiated Towels are normal.Indeed it is a clean and quiet hostel,we like it and we would like tourists to be pleased .

Beautiful, remote, secluded location in the castle of Berat. Great views. A steep 20 minutes steep walk up to the guesthouse from downtown Berat. If you want a solitary stay the Kris Guesthouse is ideal, if you need some action you better stay in Berat proper. The Warsaw Hostel

Warsaw, Poland

An odd but very quiet location at the back of meeting and administrative rooms in a large building on the first floor. A bit chaotic check-in, bedsheets of the previous occupant were not replaced with new ones, bathrooms were not cleaned once during my 4 nights stay. Kitchen is small but ok and the common room is cosy. Staff is friendly enough. Would stay again because of the good location. Supermarket is a one minute walk and you get your share of alcohol in the liquorstore right next door.

Besides all the unconvinient situations you have experienced in our hostel I truly believe there were some good aspects of your stay in Warsaw too. One of the better hostels in China. Friendly and efficient English speaking staff. 4-bed dorms small but OK, 3-bedrooms large with attached bathroom. Good breakfast, pleasant lounge, snooker. The hostel runs daily tours to the surrounding villages, very good value and cheaper then if you would do it by yourself. Reception sell bustickets. Overall a very relaxing place to stay. Recommended.

Large hostel, efficient and English speaking staff, small but nice dorms, only two public computers for such a big place is a minus. Restaurant pretty expensive. Would return in the future.

dorms pretty cramped but adequate enough, showers very small. Descent breakfast, a little late mybe for early departers. Overalle a good price for what you get.

Dark 8-person dorm wit air-matresses. Everybody walks in and out. Small kitchen with few utensils, free breakfast means you make your own coffee and buy your own bread. Grubby bathroom with one shower an toilet for the entire place. Nowone seems to run this place in the basement of a pretty nice building, but you get what you pay for, so don\'t complain ...

The all-you-can-eat-breakfast is an overstatement and if you have to leave before eight you will miss breakfast as nobody is present to serve;

Owner Comment (Hide)
There is no place, be it on the Hostelworld website nor in my hostel either, that says that the breakfast is 'all-you-can-eat'. That said, I believe that the break that I cook is very generous and offers at least 2 fruit filled pancakes, 2 scrambled eggs, and I have even been offering fresh baked bread as well in addition to the items mentioned below. In the hostel it is clearly stated that breakfast is from 7am until 12 noon with the cooked breakfast from 8am to 11am Mon to Fri and 9am to 12noon and the weekends. These guests could have had the toast, milk, juice, coffee and tea (like just about every other hostel) before 8am. It is just not possible to have this meal available at any hour of the day. I have set reasonable hours that I think will accommodate the majority of my guests. If they had special needs, they should have brought them to my attention and I would have been happy to do what I could. When I did cook for them I went out of my way even giving them extra servings of pancakes but they were still very rude and thankless. It just goes to show that no matter how much you try to please people (and I do try); there will always be someone to complain.
