Security was great, it was nice not having a key to carry around only downside was no lockers in rooms although there were small lockers downstairs and they were willing to hold bags for free. Location can't be beat, right in the centre of town. Perfect for visiting the castle or a night out,

Castle Rock Hostel, Edinburgh, Scotland

One of my favorite of Jo-Jo's hostels! Stayed here after a MacBackpackers tour and it was surprisingly cheap for a night in Edinburgh so close to Christmas with a castle view! Rooms either have a view of the castle or over the city so you really can't go wrong on either side. Breakfast is only 1.50 but if you fancy something heartier the staff have lovely recommendations. Really enjoyed the Scottish films room, plenty of electric outlets and away from the stairs.

Free wifi, sockets on each bed, room key required to open locks, free luggage room, excellent location. Staff had tons of recommendations on where to go for good food and sent us to the ballet for 3 euros which was incredible. All you can eat breakfast had a ton of options and was very reasonably priced. Free drink per person, bar downstairs was convenient but never too loud to disturb sleep. Would stay again.

Free Wifi, excellent place for dinner right across the street and bar downstairs. Rooms all had tvs and were quite warm (very welcome as it was freezing outside). Biggest downside was a decided lack of outlets but other than that no complaints! Perfect if you aren't planning on staying in Munich long and need quick access to the train station or are just here for Oktoberfest. If you're looking to spend a lot of time in the historic area this is more of a walk.

One of the best hostels I've every stayed in! I made a mistake with the booking but Sabine took care of everything! We stayed in the Persia room and it was delightful, not overly done but with touches everywhere. Each bed had its own plug and light and the showers were to die for, 3 words: heated. towel. racks. The location can't be beat and Sabine will tell you how to get everywhere. If she tells you to go to a bar for sandwiches, definitely go! (It's called SchiffFussen or something) STAY HERE

The staff was super helpful, the location is awesome especially if you are coming in to one train station and leaving from the other. Breakfast is included and is a little better than toast and jam. The rooms are spacious with separate bed lights and curtains for each bunk. The push button showers were nothing to rave about but better than some other hostels. Biggest downside was having to pay for luggage storage before/after check out in the lockers but 5 euros for a whole day isn't that bad!

Thank you very much for taking some time to leave us such a nice review! The rooms are nice and spacious along with the amazing pod beds it's something you will not find in most other hostels. It's nice you appreciated the free breakfast and the staff too. St Christopher's Inn GDN

Location was awesome, right next to a tube station but not in the city center, Barclay's Bikes also available nearby. Free to store luggage after check out. Biggest downside was the multitude of stairs we were on the top floor so it was quite a hike. If you can't handle stairs just ask for a lower room, they were super nice about accommodating those who needed it (reception is one flight up). Breakfast was pretty good and the staff was helpful with directions, even googled things for us.
