For the hostel price this places was very good. The included breakfast was a self-service buffet than ensured you would not start the day wanting for food, and it was located centrally to all of the restaurants, shops and beaches. For those choosing to dive with the Red Sea Relax Dive Center, dorm accommodation was free for any day that you were doing a course or diving with them, and the prices at the dive center were also unbeatable. Highly recommend!
Felt like home in the middle of Cairo; friendly and ever-helpful staff, clean and cosy, laid-back and cool atmosphere and all at reasonable prices. Plenty of tours available but never pushy about it too.
The only real problem was that I was the only (foreign) guest so far as I could tell for the few days that I was there, meaning that it was a rather lonely atmosphere; obviously, the hostel can hardly be blamed for the current situation in Egypt. Otherwise, it was clean and cheap and located centrally in Downtown. The staff were helpful and had several tours available without being pushy about it.
Only issue was the sound; the walls must be quite thin as I could clearly here doors shutting and people moving about in the hostel, and as my room backed onto the main road the traffic was very loud throughout the night.
Only had one night here and it was in the middle of December so it was pretty wet and grim, and there were only a handful of people about, but it was still a great place to stay. Gerald was great to have a chat with and handy for local tips.
No faults with this place; great vibe, clean facilities, big kitchen, helpful and friendly staff, walking distance to shops and pubs, all at reasonable prices. Recommended!
A nice place with fully functional and clean facilities, good common areas and good relaxed vibe. Within walking distance to food, pubs/bars and public transport for getting around in Dublin or farther afield.
