No Oxford maps, staff read from script don't offer help. Decor old, dark, outdated, dark grey bathrooms. Quiet time early in evening but no probs with shouting at 7am, no party here. Laundry service too long for a backpackers, if you cant be bothered put in a machine , we can was our own stuff faster. No atmosphere, expensive.

We are sorry to hear you missed the party nights. Sunday is normally quiet as everybody has partied on the Friday and Saturday nights. We offer laundry service, but as we have many guests this is offered over a 24hr period as we have to do bed linen, unless in emergencies. If you felt the 4 bed female dorm was expensive maybe consider staying in the 18 bed dorm next time as we offer a variety of accommodation options.

Comfy beds and not cramped, clean, friendly staff, good showers. Reliable wifi. Stayed far longer than intended. I stayed in dorms but one night in the pods was excellent , would use for weekend trips

The privacy curtains seem to make people forget others. Main light switched on at 2am, 3am and 5am, and loud conversations at all hours. Five nights of broken sleep, worst in two years of travelling. Perhaps on check-in staff could remind people in the large dorm about respecting others. Better signage to self catering kitchen and lighting in basement showers, smell of chlorine in lobby. Has much under utilised potential.

Dear Guest Thank you for your review and feedback, I'm sorry to hear your room mates where inconsiderate during the night, our hostel has signs around regarding the noise after 11PM but I will make sure we will provide more of these to raise awareness, usually this can be easily fixed by asking assistance from our 24 hour reception. We hope to see you again in the future. Kind regards Robert Stanca Manager

Cleaning was extremely good. It is a shame that basic repairs are not so efficient: the lock on our dorm door was not working properly, it had been reported prior to my arrival and still wasn't fixed when i left. WIFI is good but long term residents monopolise downstairs lounge.

The staff make this hostel, their friendliness is catching and there was an excellent group of people around most evenings. It would be better if the kitchen was open after 12 so you could cook lunch, 2pm is to late. (only bad thing was rude lady in my room on last night but im sure she will get her comeuppance)

Room doors need to automatically lock when closed. Don't advertise laundry facilities if only service washes are available.

Toilets need to be cleaned regularly, sanitary bins need to be emptied. bedroom doors can only be locked by slamming shut, so keeps people awake at night and in the morning, just sort this out!

Like most doors, we find that if you hold the handle down and give it a little pull it tends to shut discreetly, our old building just needs a little patience :) As for cleanliness, we do have housekeeping staff that tend to the toilets every morning and afternoon, however when it's just reception staff on it's hard to chase after our guests and make sure they're being respectfully hygienic!
