We had a fantastic time staying at this hostel simply due to its location at the top of the Favela overlooking Rio. The view was awesome and local restaurants very good. Staying here was the highlight of our Rio experience! The hostel itself was dirty and so was the small kitchen; so we chose to eat out! the manager Jody was extremely helpful and we couldnt speak highly enough of him. He also took us on a Favel tour of Rocinha which was very good value for money. We would stay here again.

Good basic hostel to get your head down. The kitchen was poorly equipped and of two ovens neither worked until we notified the staff. Next day new/second hand one arrived which was fine. Rooms were small, pokey and basic. Staff were helpful. breakfast was standard bread, jam, coffee, butter. just a basic hostel for backpackers

Very good breakfast. The staff were really helpful. Relaxed atmosphere. Kitchen had all the necessities and was clean. A little bit out of town but we enjoyed walking everywhere! Would stay here again.
Breakfast was very good, pancakes and eggs to order. Kitchen small but good. We cancelled our 3rd night the day we arrived but still had to pay the deposit even though already had on Hostelworld! Good brief stay.
Staff un-interesed. Kitchen was useless; No oven, dirty warm fridges, no utensils unless requested from the restaurant kitchen attached to the hostel. One member of staff, short young lady was extremely rude to us our entire stay. Too many rooms for the services provided. Rooms were clean, big lockers and a window that opened! we wouldn't choose to stay here again.
Enjoyed stay here. Kitchen in next door building which worked well. Staff were helpful and the rooms were clean. The location of hostel is out of the way with no views etc. Would stay here again.
The owner was good fun. Hell of a character, full of info. Very helpful. Hostel worked well for us. Kitchen was huge and utensils etc ok. common area was a good space, nice and toasty with the fire lit! . Photos don't do it justice. We stayed as friend had recommended. Ideal place for backpackers.
Hostel was very nice. Kitchen was well equipped. Everything was clean and staff very helpful. Hostel is up a hill, near bus terminal but not the town or lake but not too far! Would stay here again.
We were very glad we found this place due to its location and views. Great backpackers hostel. Tour up Villarica Volcano was one of our highlights and have already recommended it to others. We didn't bother with the Saturday Night BBQ and glad as friends didn't eat until 11pm.
Location was ok, you just have a bit of a walk to the tourist bits. Staff friendly, place was clean. It was quiet while we were there so atmosphere wasn't much! Kitchen good. Breakfast was poor.
The reviews we read about the place at the time of staying there were spot on! We were offered weed within minutes of entering the hostel! We booked a double private room but instead given a 4 bed dorm (with kids bunk beds which said do not use over 7yrs of age!!) Kitchen was tiny, filthy. No breakfast left and we wouldn't have wanted to eat it anyway. Slept well. Wouldn't stay here again.
Hostel was all good. Kitchen clean, rooms clean a bit small. Location was ok, further out than most but not a problem. Nothing negative. Would stay again.
Nothing like its sister hostel in Arequipa. Showers outside were cold and everything gets wet. Kitchen was not clean and small. Staff were ok but when we experienced problems with a tour they put us on they dealt with it very badly. We went on a tour of the islands on lake Titicaca and spent one night on the floating islands, this part of the tour was through the hostel and not an outside company. This section was terrible and we were very disappointed by this tourist trap.
Rooms were basic, bathrooms unclean. Pool was dirty, we didn't use it. Breakfast described by employee as rubbish so we didn't even try it there. Cheap dirty hostels. Ok for a couple of nights kip!
Best thing about this hostel is the stunning views over Cusco. We stayed here for 6 nights and didnt mind the short up hill walk back to the hostel every night to enjoy them! We did not sleep well due to room location. We after a night of no sleep asked to move. We were situated below a large dorm room and very creeky floorboards. We were moved to the front of the building which was much better. The kitchen is available to use but we were watched carefully by Adolf the owner.
The location worked for us, close to a really good supermarket. Not to far from the beach and down town. The rooms smelt of the floor polish and our socks and feet always got red waxy smelly polish on them. Bathrooms all downstairs but not a major issue!
Hostel was fine, good for sleeping, cooking. Not busy when we were there so chilled out. Kitchen/common area closed at bizarre times. Nothing negative.
No on spoke english so we struggled a little. Kitchen was small. Clean rooms, private bathroom tiny shower was cold. Hostel was nearly empty when we were there. Location really good for some popular streets. We enjoyed our time here.
