The location was awful, plain awful, in one of the worst parts of the city. There was no wifi (they make you actually buy an ethernet cable from them), a completely under equipped kitchen and no reading lights or plugs near the bed. Atmosphere? There was no atmosphere whatsoever. and for the key they want a god damn £30 deposit! Or else they take your bloody passport. It looks like a good price but the fact is that you have to take two trains to get absolutely anywhere interesting. Staff were ok
Fantastic place if you want to meet people, it is incredibly easy even if you aren't that social usually. If that's not what you're looking for then you probably won't get much out of Carpe to be honest
There were no lockers or any sort of security inside the rooms, sockets had to be shared (and were for the most part not available near the beds), there was no kitchen (though apparently one is in the works), and the staff (minus one bartender) weren't anything special. The people for the most part was nice though, and the price was good; especially given the location.
It's like a hotel room that just happens to have seven beds in it. I loved how it not only provided a kitchen but also some free food and free shampoo in the shower. The only problem was that the place was located outside of the city, but it's right next to a transport hub so there are trains, buses and trams nearby and the train to Centraal Station only takes five minutes. Highly reccomended.
