At first I wondered what they hype was about, but then I met the staff. They are funny, accommodating, friendly, and truly make you feel welcome. The facilities are simple, breakfast is basic, but the service you get here makes all the difference.

loved it here, we stayed for 10 days as backpackers. They fed us 3 meals a day and our average price for those 10 days was only $12 and that included laundry, food, drinks, stay, and buses. It was amazing. STAY HERE!

Sunflower Hotel Hoi An

Very nice place, but staff was underwhelming. They were not overly friendly and it felt at times that they were trying to get more money out of you then they properly should be. In a hostel you want to feel safe and welcomed, we just didn't get that. The rooms are nice and atmosphere is great, though.

Khoi Hostel

Staff was awesome, greeted us with cold tea and bananas upon arrival after a 13 hour bus ride. Breakfast included was great, tours are good through the hostel, and rooms are comfy. Only downside, not much of a "fun backpacker environment". Internet is a bit shotty as well, but overall a great stay with Khoi

Average facilities. Hot tub advertised is NOT actually a hot tub, but a tub they fill with cold dirty water. Food is reasonably priced and so are the drinks. Location is ok and it is not the best, but an ok place to meet other backpackers. If you are looking for a last minute booking for only a few nights, this is an ok place to lay your head until the next one shows up.

Brian is wonderful. I CANNOT say enough good things. He arranged for us to have a tuk tuk pick us up FOR FREE from our bus station when we had no idea where we would be dropped off. He then gave us an amazing room at an amazing rate. Free coffee, reasonable food and drink prices. TONS of TV channels, books great priced tours and explains everything you need to know. He even extended our stay and moved things around when we decided to stay longer last minute. AMAZING

Staff was a little odd. They bickered back and forth frequently which was awkward and lectured guests. They over booked as well. Facilities were ok, simple cots on the floor and non heated showers. Area felt a tad sketchy. Do not go to the Brit dr owner recommends, he was SO rude. Onky perk is that the hostel is by the River and they arrange tuk tuk tours

Beautiful pool and nice rooms. Free breakfast is a great cherry on top of an already good experience. Only setback is that the internet is VERY shotty, thus use outside internet prior to entering hotel for serious planning.

Tipsy staff were great. The dog tipsy is cute as a button. Rooms were spacious and comfy. Only thing is that the bathrooms were a little dirty and showers were not reliably hot.

Rob is amazing. Great day trips. Great atmosphere, very social. Only thing is internet can go out randomly and showers are hardly ever warm (and they are outdoors-like). Overall a great experience.

Cool place to meet people. Average facilities and a tad pricey for a dorm. Cool movie selection and free breakfast were a plus!

Kikies House

The hostel was situated in a decent area. We booked a private room. We had to change rooms from the far away guest house and the main house. The guest house private was 1/3 size of the main house private. They charged the same baht for very downy rooms. It was not until we confronted them about this obvious rip off that they gave us 50b back. Staff is ok. Rude at times. I would never book an adventure with them. They charge outrageous prices and the tours they book with get awful reviews.

Pak-Up Hostel

Krabi, Thailand

Very clean place (cleaned at least 2 times a day). There is a lounge to watch DVDs (wide selection). Krabi isn't exactly a happening place in terms of partying, as most people use it as a pivot point for their next move, but they do try to get people to come together. Staff at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. I accidentally bumped into the maid and said sorry, and while I was showering I could hear them making fun of me and mimicking me saying "sorry" in a mocked American accent.

Slumber Party Hostel

Krabi Ao Nang, Thailand

The hostel is very well kept, and Edmund (the hostel owner) is very friendly. He organizes bar crawls, trips, and puts on events (like free shots every time your football team scores). At first we didn't even stay there and we just had a drink in the lounge area. It became our home-base. He even lent me his shoes to go climbing. Liked location, 15 minute walk to Ao Nang beach. Would recommend to anyone, as even in its infancy Slumber felt like the place to be in Ao Nang. -Team America

Aman was VERY nice and helpful (he does tattoos upstairs if you are interested). Rooms were big, clean, and A/C worked well. It is centrally located. We fell off our motorbike and Aman even patched us up. The hostel felt very much "home-like". Food was excellent. Would recommend.

They had lockers which was nice. Internet was often unavailable and when it was available, it was quite slow. It was located pretty far out from anything, including edible food. The surrounding area felt unsavory and did not smell very good at all. Pretty much your run of the mill hostel aside from the location.
