Dover Castle Hostel and Bar

Stayed here for one night during a layover. While the location is good and it was surprisingly quiet given all the World Cup partying going on downstairs, the facilities aren't great in terms of the shower. As others have mentioned, there are only curtains separating the two showers in one room, so unless you're showering at the same time as your close friend, it is likely that people are only showering one at a time (and locking the door while they are).

Very nice place with an eco-friendly mindset. There are still some kinks to work out since it's a relatively new hostel, but overall the staff is very friendly and helpful. We did have some issues ordering breakfast in English, and were also upgraded to a private room for free after there was a double booking issue in the dorms, but the staff did make efforts to fix the problem ASAP.

Town House 50 Saigon

Excellent facilities, very friendly staff, and perhaps the best hostel breakfast I've had! The Town House 50 is located a short walk away from the backpackers' area, but is still very centrally located. The facilities are incredibly clean and comfortable, and were the nicest I've seen in a very long time! Would definitely stay here again the next time we're in the city.

Waterland Hotel

Very clean and comfortable rooms, though since we came in December when things were quite humid, it took an incredibly long time for things to dry in our rooms. The staff is very friendly and was always helpful with restaurant and attraction recommendations. However, you may want to get another map, since things located further away from the hostel might be difficult to find on the map they provide.

KoTo Hostel

Hanoi, Vietnam

We were in Hanoi for a few days and wanted to stay in a hostel that was away from the backpackers' area, but still centrally located. Koto Hostel was perfect for our needs, and the staff was always extremely helpful! The washroom was about what you would expect for Southeast Asia, but the room and the rest of the facilities were particularly clean and comfortable. The highlight of our stay was how often the staff went above and beyond to meet the needs of our group. Would highly recommend!
