Clean, safe hostel. Bit off queen st, but within 10 mins you are in the heart of th city. Not exactly the place to meet other travellers as clearly there are a lot of long termers. Staff were helpful. Good hostel, but slightly pricey.
V quiet as end of summer and you can tell, met some lovely girls! Very chilled, great novelty of not sleeping in a bunk! Friendly, helpful staff-the pick up/drop off service is great! Only complaint was the air con unit in the room, so so noisy, this needs to be sorted. Aside from that good place to stay
My first Nomads in aus and v impressed. Clean, massive lodges. Good location, but to be fair all the hostels are within a 150m radius as airlie is so small! Only real bone of contention was the strict 1pm check in, this is a joke when you've done the overnight journey from hervey or rainbow beach.
Good little hostel, one of the v few places that gives you both a free brekkie and WIFI-awesome. Basic, but v clean. Staff are great, really helpful and friendly, they offer regular drop offs for the greyhound and to the supermarket. Only bugbear is the lack of lockers in the dorms! Apart from that a good place to stay!
In the middle of nowhere, you need to be at Noosa heads, staff were good and very helpful. Total rip off for what you get, it is in serious need of a clean and a lick of paint-run down doesn't cover it. Plus my bed linen was unclean a real pet peeve of mine. Rubbish atmosphere, v cliquish. Did one night (instead of 3) and moved to the YHA which was fab. Avoid!
Clearly my standards are higher than others, so much so that i reduced my stay from 4 to 2 nights. Staff were offhand, i made a facetious joke about paying for a key deposit and was stonewalled! It needs to be upgraded, the 'shabby chic' look wears thin v quickly. Plus my linen wasn't clean, the bunks are terrible have never felt like its going to collapse before. Too prescriptive, signs are literally everywhere, you can't do this and that! I'm 28 and not a yob and have a modicum of common sense
Not a fan, over a mile out of the centre-only saving grace was the hourly transfer. The staff were helpful and polite which is always good. No lockers at all which is a mega bo go in a hostel, there was access to a safe in reception to keep your passport etc, seriously its 2014 every room should have some sort of secure area. En-suite was a dive, the whole place needs to be upgraded. Plus loads of long termers so it always changes the atmosphere. Should've done an extra day in byron!
Bit pricey for what you get, this is a mid-range hostel. It could do with a revamp as it looks like it hasn't had its carpets changed in a good thirty years! The staff were a bit offhand, but thats subjective. Massive pain in the bum having all the washing facilities in one area on each floor. If it's a single night stay you are after come here, long term forget it!
Apollo is a cracking little place, talk about chilled, friendly staff. It's calm and relaxing vibe is perfect after touring the great ocean road all day. This is by no means party central, but that isn't the point of the town as a whole. The rooms are snug, but kept perfectly, as are the washing facilities. The communal areas are shabby chic. I would've stayed here a week if i had the time. Plus free brekkie is always a winner. Visit it you will enjoy it.
This is the Rolls Royce of hostels, the facilities are exceptional for a hostel. Massive rooms, secure and very clean facilities. You are paying a premium but it's worth every cent, particularly if you are an older traveller who doesn't always want to slum it. Staff were polite and efficient but not a barrel if laughs. Come here for a bit of luxury
Did my first 4 nights in Oz here, as i'm a slightly older traveller the clientele perhaps wasn't what i expected. Too many kids running riot is how it felt, as a lone traveller i t cliquish, i'm a sociable girl but it wasn't easy. The bar is good and happy hour is a winner. Generally clean and tidy. My only complaint was the massively expensive wifi. Aside from that a solid hostel
