Smart Russell Square Hostel

London, England

Cramped dorms with as many bunks as possible fitted into. Too bad no one thought about any luggage the guests might bring along - so all the floors are filled with stuff. Better don't be there in case of an emergency. My dorm also had just 2 plugs for 16 people. Showers were awful - only few with water that was actually warm and the smell in the shower rooms is just disgusting. Extra charge for basically anything - lockers, luggage storage etc.

We are continuously seeking ways of improving our hostel's quality so thank you for your comment. We are in the middle of refurbishment for every room to be en suite and with a plug next to every bed. The extra charges are there as not every guest needs every facility that we offer so you don't end up paying for the things you don't need whilst making a booking. We hope to see you again.

Hostel Cat

An old Motel converted to a Hostel. Everything was fine, especially the large lockers and the daily events. The only setback is the tiny kitchen. Excellent staff! I would definitely recommend this one or stay there again.

Silverfern Backpackers

Auckland, New Zealand

Nice and seemingly new Hostel in Auckland CBD, approx give minutes to Skycity. Facilities are good and clean. Bad things: completely unfriendly and unmotivated staff, charge for lockers, charge for luggage storage and 50$ key Deposit. No free breakfast as advertised and free wifi only for 30 minutes per day.

Breakfast is only free during winter months as advertised, stay a week and you get 1GB of wifi. Staff are very motivated which is why the hostel is so busy and clean. We have many guests who have stayed longer than a year, if staff were unfriendly they wouldn't stay that long. Perhaps you should try being more sociable yourself.

Nice location close to CBD, good value for money. Hostel is quiet and relaxed. Continental breakfast provided plus tea/coffee provided. WiFi and computers for free, though a little slowish.

Hump Backpackers

First Hostel to lock the kitchen at nighttime. Funny if you have got an early flight to catch and can't get to your food - though you've told the staff just the morning before ...

Discovery Melbourne

Really enjoyed my stay there. One thing to improve: provide free luggage storage - 8$ for 8 hours in the locker is a little overpriced.

Dingo Moon Lodge

Darwin, Australia

Dingo Moon Lodge was a nice little hostel with nice people to hang out as well. Nice location in Darwin CBD, clean facilities and free laundry. Breakfast was amazing! A simple thing to make a stay even better: Add lockers to the dorms, let's everyone sleep easier.
