The staff was very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is big and well equipped. However, a lot of the guest seem to be long-term residents so the rooms are a bit of a chaos, with their possesions and clothes lying around everywhere. I also had the bad luck of staying in a mixed dorm with a very heavy snorer keeping me up half the night. If you want to take day tours I'd recommend a hostel closer to the center on Queen Str. or you have to walk 15 min in the early morning to get picked up.

Never got round to try the breakfast because my tours always left earlier, but apart from that it was a great stay. The stuff is very helpful and fun to be around, they always know what's going on in Cairns at nights. I've only been there a few days but they made me feel very welcome. The rooms are small but okay for the price and clean. Showers are clean too which is a plus.

The staff was very helpful and forthcoming and the breakfast was very enjoyable. Location is good too, a lot of shops nearby and Federation Square is just a 30 min walk away (or take the tram down the street). Definitely would go there again.
